Rookie's Diary

Dear Diary, I know it's been a while since I've written in this book, but there's something I have to get off my chest. I've started my high school life and have been doing my very best in trying to fit in, but recently, there's this penguin who sits next to me in class and at lunchtime, but I've been feeling weird around him. But that's another story for another time.

The penguin that I met is a guy. Well, his name is Guy, Guy Paxton, and I believe he's a really nice penguin. He has red feathers, sunshades, and he's a bit taller than me. Not to mention that I've been hearing some rumors from other penguins of how cool, and popular he is. But, I've been asking him if he wants to come over to my igloo, and he accepts it. We've been chilling out in my place, just chatting and drinking tea. Not to mention we've been getting to know each other ever since the first week of high school.

We then cut to a scene in Rookie's bedroom. He was sitting on his chair, sitting on his chair as he was writing exactly what he said in his diary, but then he paused on his writing. He was getting a bit distracted from thinking about Guy. He keeps having thoughts, but keeps shaking his head, trying to keep those thoughts away. But there are some times that he asks himself why he keeps thinking about him.

Rookie takes a good deep breath, to calm himself down.

"Okay Rookie, just write what you know about him, instead of his looks." Rookie said to himself. He then continues to write in his diary.

So, here's what I learned from Guy Paxton, since he started to come over. He's very responsible, and he takes good care of his family. He even got straight A's in all of his classes from his previous schools, and was an amazing student. He likes Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal, but not too much into it. Plus, he's planning to join the soccer team, since he spends most of his time playing some sports with his family. When I heard some of these things that he mentioned to me about, I was very surprised to hear that. He's very great at those things. Not only that, but I think joining the soccer team would be a nice interesting thing for him, since extracurriculars are important as well.

Rookie sighs in relief, feeling glad to himself that he didn't write the description of how handsome that he would be as a soccer player, otherwise that he would be embarrassed that he would put it down in his diary. But he finishes writing his diary entry and puts it away, along with putting his pencil back in the pencil cup. Then he hears a knock on his bedroom door, with a voice calling out to him.

"Rookie, it's me, your aunt Arctic. It's time for dinner." The voice of Aunt Arctic calls to him outside of his door.

"I'm coming."

Rookie goes to the kitchen to search for his aunt, until he spots her sitting near the kitchen seat, close to the table. He waddles to his seat to join his aunt.

"Hey Aunt Arctic, how was work today?" Rookie asks his aunt, smiling at her.

"It was a bit of a slow day for me, but at least I got all the work done." Aunt Arctic replies back to nephew.

"Has it always been so busy and hard at your job?" Rookie asks in curiosity.

"Well, is it sometimes busy at your job place that you go to?"

"Well, it sometimes happens from time to time, but I don't think it's that very busy." The aunt ponders as she skewers her fork into her shredded fish lasagna.

"Besides, I'm always going to try my hardest to keep my nephew safe." She said, as she pumped her flipper, while smirking. This caused Rookie to chuckle.
