The world is cruel and unfair....
Izuku came to that conclusion at a very young age.
Four years old
Izuku sat on the high chair, legs kicking with excitement. He could not stop wiggling around and smiling from the prospect of learning when he would get his quirk. His mother, Inku Midoriya, tried her best to calm him, but ultimately resigned to his hyperness, and smiled at her son's antics.
Izuku has guessed his quirk would be coming soon, because recently he had been getting sharp pains in his head and/or his vision would suddenly act up. However, his mother was worried about how long it was taking for his quirk to manifest.
A couple minutes later the doctor came, he was a stoic looking man with weird green glasses and a 'very fluffy beard' , Izuku thought. That moment he didn't realize he was about to hear the words that changed his whole life.
Without skipping a beat the doctor said, "your son is quirkless." It was a statement, there was no "possibly" or "maybe," only facts..
Inku grabbed her son's shoulder out of surprise or comfort, he did not know. "Quirkless?..... Are you sure, doctor?"
"Positive," the doctor began to flip through his papers and pointed at a x-ray photo, "as you can see here, your son has an extra toe-joint, it is rare now-a-days, but related back to the olden days, if someone is born with one they are most likely to be quirkless"
Inkus hand tightened painfully on Izuku's shoulder, "most likely,so there is a chance he may have one"
The doctor stared, with a blank face for a second, "yes, but that is 1 in 1 millionth chance, and judging by the fact he has yet to develop one, there is an almost 100% fact he won't ever develop one."
Izuku flinched at the pain coming from his mothers grip.
Just like that his hopes and dreams began to crack and fall. 'quirkless...I am? But my headaches! My vision! That most mean something!....right?'
His mother must have been thinking the same thing, "b-but he has been complaining about recent headaches and his vision has been changing! That means something right!?"
"That is most likely medically related, I suggest having him checked by a neurologist after this," the doctor then proceeded to leave the two stunned midoriyas.
Izuku could not think properly, he was devastated and his mind was swirling with depressing thoughts, but he was quickly taken out of his stuber when his mother's grip only tightened.
"Mommy your hurting me"
Inkus eyes darkened has she looked at her son "useless"
"Wha-"
"Come on, we are leaving." Inku all but dragged Izuku out of the hospital
He never did go see the neurologist.
Two weeks later
Izuks life had only gone down since his hospital visit. His mother no longer gave him her sweet smiles and comforting hugs. All he received now was the cold shoulder, and hateful eyes. For the past two weeks Izuku had to beg his mother for food or find what he could reach with his short legs and arms. He had been lucky to reach the crackers and peanut butter once, but they soon were put on the upper self. He could get water from the bathroom sink, though. Inku had been slowly taking things out of his room, to the dumpster so the neighbor would not notice. She never spoke to him, and if she did it was to tell him to shut up or call him useless and other horrible names.
He did not understand the sudden change, where did his loving mother go? Was this an imposter? No... she wasn't.
Not only did his home life change but his school life as well. As soon as his quirklessness was known he was laughed at and ridiculed by his fellow classmates. His friends turned their backs on him and joined in with the taunting. His teachers turned away when this happened.
It was not fair...it wasn't his fault he was born the way he was. So why was he blamed for it?
1 month later
Izuku stopped asking for food now, he knew he wouldn't get any help. The only place he could reach food was the trash, where he munched on his mothers measly leftovers. She began to work more hours and was almost never home.
'At least she doesn't hit me' Izuku thought
He couldn't say the same about school though. The verbal abuse soon became physical, mostly led by his own friend, Bakugo.
'used to be friend' izuku sadly thought
"Hey Deku!" Bakugo sneered.
That was the new name that was given to him, it was to show everyone that came around thet he was useless. That he was worthless.
"why are you still here? you might as well disappear!" Bakugou said threateningly, well as threatening as a four year old could. Small explosions came from the child's hands. Often those explosions were pressed onto Izuku's skin leaving minor burns in their place. "no wants a deku."
Izuku knew that. No one wanted him. His mother did not want him. The teachers did not care nor his neighbors. They must have seen his form start to become sickly skinny from malnourishment. His sunken cheeks and his dull eyes.
No one cared, that was obvious.
1 week later
Through his pain and depression Izuku had noticed something. His headaches had increased throughout the past month and after every headache stopped he changed.
His vision would become sharper, everything around him seemed to slow. suddenly he could understand the curriculum better and faster. He noticed things he could never before.
when he stared at something everything about it seemed to flow into his mind. Every crease of clothes, every movement of muscles when his classmates ran around at recess.
Izuku wanted to explore this.
Analyzing was something Izuku loved to do even before he was deemed quirkless. He loved watching countless videos of heroes watching them save people and take down the evil. It inspired him! It started his dreams of becoming a hero!
They weren't the same. Izuku noticed everything. All of the mistakes. Everything they could do better. It was shocking to say the least. These heroes were doing it all wrong. If they had just made proper decisions there would be so much less casualties. Not only that, but the amount of the times left themselves open to attack was disturbing to say the least.
Izuku did not understand it, how could they not see the flaws. He was four and could see them. So he did what he thought was best. He wrote them down, maybe he could have give them to the heroes in the future to help them improve. Apparently they needed some help.
'This is fun' Izuku thought.
