"Duel!"
"Duel!"[Kuroe: 4000 LP]
[Sylvia: 4000 LP]Kuroe and Sylvia drew five cards each for their starting hand.
"You goin' down, sista!" one of Kuroe's goons shouted from the sidelines. Sylvia ignored him.
"Damn right! I'm aboutta put you in yer place!" Kuroe snickered, drawing his first card. "An' it all starts with this! I Summon Blast Magician in Attack Mode!"
He slapped his card down with more force than necessary, and out of a ring of white light arose a spellcaster in red and black robes, with what looked like a scythe instead of a staff in his hand. The man was very tall; almost as tall as Dark Magician. But Sylvia stared the monster directly in the eyes.

I won't go down to the likes of a thug who thinks he can play with people's lives however he wants. My friend is counting on me. I need to save him.
If Blast Magician heard her words, she couldn't tell. She had to assume, since the monsters she was facing now weren't nearly as kind or welcoming as Yusei's, that the only reason she could do so before was because they held no hostility toward her. Now, however, she heard nothing.
Well, that was fine. It'd be all the less distracting for her.
"Now I set one card face-down. Get ready, kid; you're gonna get what's comin'!" Kuroe taunted.
Sylvia silently drew her card and began her turn. "I Summon The Weather Painter Rain in Attack Position."
A ring of light and a drizzle of rain signaled the coming of the deep blue Weather Painter, wielding a marker pen that was bigger than herself. She floated in the center of Sylvia's field, waiting for her next move.

Kuroe laughed. "What do you think you're doin', sendin' out a monster with less Attack Points than mine? What's that shitty little fairy gonna do? Like I said, you oughtta go back home and play with your dolls."
The way this guy was talking already irked her. Responding to him and giving him reactions would be exactly what he wants. She was starting to understand why Yusei was so quiet most of the time now. If he faced guys like this on a regular basis, he probably figured it just wasn't worth wasting his breath on them.
"Next, I activate The Weather Snowy Canvas," she said, placing it to Rain's right. A cloud of flurrying snow formed above the field, coating Rain in its power.
"Hah! Gotcha!" Kuroe smirked. Sylvia paused to listen. "Whenever a Spell card is activated, Blast Magician gets a Spell Counter! How'd ya like that!"
Ah, a Spell Counter deck. She wasn't very familiar with this type of deck, so she ought to be cautious. For all she knew, he could destroy all the cards on her field. While he underestimated her, she oughtn't do the same in return.
A single, pitch-black orb with an upside-down triangular symbol materialized in front of Blast Magician and slowly began to rotate around him, leaving a trail of ominous purple light behind it. So those would be the Spell Counters, then. She'd best keep her eye on them.
[Blast Magician: 1 SC]
"Very well. I activate Rain's effect. When she's within a Canvas's range, she gains a bonus effect; all she has to do is enter the Canvas, and I can pull out any 'The Weather' card I like from my deck."
Rain dove into the canvas behind her, leaving behind no trace of her existence. Sylvia found Rainbowed Canvas in her deck and shuffled it again. Her field was left completely empty save for Snowy Canvas.
