Rally looked at her like she grew a second head. "...what?"

The girl reached out to her cards and flipped through them, trying to recognize anything. The Weather Painter Rain. The Weather Painter Thunder. Aurora. Sun. Snow. Cloud. It was familiar, sure, but all she knew about the cards was that she felt a tug in her heart that probably had something to do with them. A familiar tug.

"W-wait, wait, wait... So when you didn't answer Yusei's questions..."

Yusei? That sounded... familiar, somehow.

"...was it because you couldn't talk, or because you couldn't remember?"

She took another sip of her water. "...both."

Rally deflated. "Oh... but... how can you not remember your own name? I mean, it's your name."

She glanced down at her hands, ashamed.

Rally watched her with pity. "...maybe... it's amnesia? I mean, that's the only reason I can think of."

She hummed softly, trying not to let too much disappointment show on her face.

"So... then you don't know why you were out in the rain three days ago?"

She blinked and glanced at the boy. "Three days?"

"Y-yeah. You've been asleep that long," he said. "Yusei said he'd go out to grab some things to tune up his Runner, so he told me to wait here and watch you until he came back. I don't think any of us really expected you to wake up so soon."

Soon? Three days is a long time to stay asleep. She hummed again, mumbling "thank you" under her breath and taking another sip of her water.

"Hmm... Hey, you know, I've heard sometimes doing something familiar can help jog your memory. Yusei finished fixing up your Duel Disk, so maybe if you have a duel, you can remember something! Whaddaya say?"

Rally looked rather excited, she found, at the idea of dueling like this. He seemed happy. For some reason, the idea of dueling filled her with dread, but she couldn't really find a good reason to turn him down.

"...alright," she acquiesced with a reluctant sigh. "...then, I guess... let's Duel."

Rally lit up. "Really?! Awesome! Wait here, okay? Lemme just get my deck!"

The girl waited nervously as Rally sprinted out of the hideout, practically tripping over his own feet in excitement, and took the time to re-familiarize herself with her deck. Somehow, she had practically already memorized their effects by the time Rally came back. She must've remembered them, still.

Isn't that odd, though? Remembering her card effects before her own name?

"Okay!" Rally fumbled with a Duel Disk that was too large for his arm. "I... think I've got it... Let's just head outside the hideout real quick... and we can... ugh... stupid heavy thing... we can... uh... duel! Right!"

The girl watched him fumble. Something about it seemed... familiar.

A young, tan boy with dark brown hair, fumbling with his Duel Disk, trying and failing to draw his hand quicker than his opponent. A taller, similarly brunette girl, scolding him, then easily and happily showing him up with her skill. A blonde boy her age, messing around with a City-model Duel Disk.

...what was that? A memory?

Rally managed, finally, to get the Duel Disk to balance on his arm, though it was precarious and probably very unsafe. "There!" he exclaimed, satisfied with his work. "I did it! It fits!"
