"Lex, slow down," I order, trying to keep up with my energetic younger brother.

"But I can see Emmalineaaaaaa," Lex drags out the last syllable, his eyes fixed on a girl in the distance.

"You like her way too much," Bex says snarkily, rolling her eyes.

"You squirm too much," I report to Bex, as I try to brush the knots out of her long strawberry-blonde hair.

"Ugh, then stop brushing my hair," Bex groans, fidgeting in her seat.

"If you stop squirming, I'd be done by now," I reply patiently. "Anyway, Lex, Rex, run along. Bex will come soon."

They run off, and fifteen seconds later, I admire my handiwork. I gave Bex two identical French braids. "There, run along."

"Say hi to Biana for meeeee," Bex sings and starts making kissy faces.

"You're delusional," I kiss her forehead, and she runs off. I smile.

"Dex, wait up," I turn in surprise. No one is in the forest overlooking Foxfire. It's always been a Dizzene spot ever since Hex (Laughs in foreshadowing) showed it to me.

There stood Biana. My breath caught in my throat. Her brown curls were placed daintily up with an opal comb. Her green tank top revealed her scars. I couldn't help but admire her strength and beauty.

"Hey, Biana. What brings you here?" I ask, trying to keep my cool.

"I just needed to get away from the crowd for a bit," she replies, her voice soft and gentle.

"Yeah, I know what you mean," I nod, feeling a sense of calm wash over me. Being with Biana always had that effect on me. We start to walk toward Foxfire.

"You know, I've been meaning to tell you something," Biana says, breaking the silence.

My heart races as I wait for her to continue. What could she possibly want to tell me? "Okay,"

"Um- so I got my match list, and you were first," she told me in one breath

I stumble back "But your dad, I'm working class, your nobility, I-I-," I small voice in my head whispered 'You should be celebrating," I ignored it.

"I know," She whispers.

"Does he know?"

She shook her head "I been stopping him from looking but..."

"You don't think he'll take from you and see," I guess

She nodded "I just don't understand, you're working class," She paused and looked at me "No, offence,"

I hold up my hands "None taken,"

She sighed in relief "And I'm nobility,"

"We shouldn't be on each other's lists,"

"I know,"

"But we are,"

"I know,"

"Stop repeating I know,"

"I know,"

Biana giggled

I smiled at her and said "Yeah, we are,"

We kept walking, not saying anything. The silence was comfortable. I couldn't help but notice the way the sunlight danced on her curls.

"Hey," Biana broke the silence, "do you remember when we were little, and we used to sneak out of our houses to explore the forest together?"

I smiled at the memory. "Yeah, I remember. We were always getting into trouble."

"But it was so much fun," she said with a nostalgic look in her eyes.

We continued walking, lost in our memories. As we approached Foxfire, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia myself. This place held so many memories for us - both happy and sad. Biana grabbed my hand and my heart quickened. The warmth of her hand sent shivers down my spine. She led me to a private space. We sat down on a soft patch of grass, surrounded by tall trees and colourful flowers. Butterflies fluttered around us, adding to the serene beauty of the moment. It was a place where time seemed to stand still, and all that mattered were the two people sharing this special moment. I couldn't take my eyes off her. She was so beautiful, inside and out.

Without thinking, I leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips. She kissed me back, her lips pressing against mine, sending electric shocks through my entire body. Our kiss deepened, and I could feel the passion between us grow stronger.

When we finally pulled apart, we were both breathless. "We should do that again sometime," Biana said with a cheeky grin.

"Definitely," I replied, my heart racing.
