"Sorry we only have your fruit loops. The need to go grocery shopping soon shouldn't be ignored. We have a child living with us."
Jeno said as he glanced at his useless apron with distaste. He thought there would be at least eggs and ramen but the fridge and cabinets are empty.
"Dad I'm not a child. I'm sixteen for God's sake and I am fine with fruit loops. It's my favorite and Papa's too. Later on, I'll steal something from my friends or perhaps Sunoo would bring something for me."
"Boy, what I told you about stealing?"
"What Papa! They're my friends and they also take my food. But nowadays I look forward to Sunoo's lunch because he brings my favorite food in a separate box."
"Oh wow! I never had anyone do that when I was a kid."
"Me neither."
"I AM NOT A KID.' Yoon kicked his feet under the table.
Jeno brought their bowls and sat beside his husband. The three of them ate in peaceful silence.
The doorbell rang soon after.
"I think it's Sunoo, wish me luck." Yoonjae straightened his appearance, even letting Jaemin brush his hair into a cool hairstyle. He jumped down from the stool and walked to the front door.
"He's whipped."
"He sure is."
The parents watched at how fidgety Yoonjae is getting when Sunoo asked him to sit on his bicycle.
Since the school is just five minutes ride and in the middle the neighborhood, they allowed Yoonjae to go with friends sometimes.
Well Jeno didn't agree to it but Jaemin insisted that it's okay.
Jeno and Jaemin walked to the door, each giving a kiss on Yoonjae's forehead, making the latter scrunch his nose and Sunoo giggle.
Yoonjae definitely didn't feel bad, on contrary he likes to be babied and spoiled by his parents but not in front of his crush.
"Be safe both of you, okay?" Jaemin said and bid them goodbye.
He closed the door and turned around. He is caught off the guard when Jeno pushed him to the wall.
"What are you doing?"
If a stare can melt someone on spot, Jaemin would turn into a puddle.
"I don't know, probably do something to you. Last week you wrecked me till I couldn't walk so now it's your turn to get fu-"
Loud voices of their neighbors halted everything they were doing.
"They're arguing again." Jaemin commented and walked to the window before peering discreetly through the curtains to see the drama, Jeno joining him as well.
And sure enough, fourteen-year old Lily furiously stormed out of the front door with hands on her hips, followed by her frustrated and tired fathers.
"He stole my bike and my lunch again."
"Calm down munchkin, I'll drive you to school okay? And I promise we'll have a talk with Sunoo."
Jaemin could see her dad Mark crouching down to her height and patting her hair.
"But what about my lunch." Lily's chin wobbled.
"Bold to assume that I'll send my daughter without food. Take this, I made your favourite food." Her other father, Donghyuck, proceeded to put the box inside her backpack.
Lily smiled finally, and hugged both of her parents.
"Let that teenager come home, I'll have my spatula ready."
"Oh come on Donghyuck, he's just like you. Don't you remember those days when I was Renjun's roommate and you knocked on our door and run away so as to see who comes out?"
"That wasn't that bad Mark, at least not like you who stole the principal's wig to prove your love to me, that one time you had that special apple juice."
"Uh let's pretend that this conversation never happened. You didn't hear anything Lily, did you?"
"No dad, I can pretend that I didn't here."
"Okay then the conversation ends here. I just feel bad for poor innocent Yoonjae. What would he think about Sunoo after he finds out?"
Jaemin closed the curtain as Mark's last sentence made him giggle. His son is way to blinded to notice anything.
"I told you right, Sunoo is whipped for our Yoonjae."
"I hope they end up together, not now ofcourse, I won't let it happen until Yoon is eighteen."
"Aren't you a little strict?" Jaemin laced his hands around Jeno's neck as the other hugged him by the waist.
"I am not strict nor do I want to impose my views on him. I am looking out because there are horrible things out there, about which he may not know. I want to protect and educate our child about them, that's it." Jeno said before brushing a strand of Jaemin's hair out of his face and continued.
"What he wants in his life and what he does to make himself happy and content is completely upon him. But I am still his father and I want him to have a comfortable life with some regulations at best."
"Jeno, sometimes I feel like you and Yoon deserves someone better than me. I don't think I am enough as a husband and a parent."
Jaemin's insecurities hurt him a lot at times.
"Don't ever say that Minnie, you are the best person for both of us. You chose to stay with me, you chose to love me, be my husband and gave me the most amazing family anyone can wish for. You are loving, caring and protective over me and Yoon, always guiding through the right path. You made my grey life colorful, baby, and I wouldn't trade it for anything."
Jaemin broke into sobs.
"Awww love, don't cry. We have to go to work too." Jeno kissed Jaemin's forehead softly.
