The guard then went back to the bag and grabbed the weight but he couldn't lift it with one arm so he struggled a lot to pick it up. When he finally did he fell to the floor. Theo burst into laughter after that and everyone around us was giggling at how the guard fell.
"What is this? A sixty-pound weight?!"
"No, 20," Theo replied
"Weights aren't allowed."
"Never heard of that one!"
"Well, now you do!"
"Well, according to the airport rules weights are not a problem, and if you would like I can find evidence of that."
The guard gulped, knowing that he would find it.
"Just let the guy take his weights man." One of the guards said. The guard then growled at him and left. Hey sir, sorry about my partner he has erm... anger issues. Pardon me.
"It's no problem don't worry about me!" Theo replied politely. The guard shook his head and smirked before handing us our stuff back.
"Have a good flight sir!" He said before leaving to help someone else.
"Thank you!" We both said at the same time and left. We wildly ran to the terminal and as we ran I heard the announcer make the last call for boarding. No! No! Shit, where is it?
THERE! We ran in the direction I was pointing to. Nice job, federal agent! God, I'm an undercover idiot! I nudged at his shoulder. We sat on a chair and waited so that we would be the last people to board the plane.
"hell, your one lucky ass couple."
Hah! We aren't a couple!? I told the lady and she silenced herself.
"Why did you say that though?" Theo said
"Because you are the last person to board. The last ones are always lucky. "Anyways... have a nice flight!" The lady chuckled. Well, she was weird. We both walked down the hall and right to the plane's entrance. The plain was just as full as when I first came here. Memories came flooding into my mind again, but this time I felt a sharp pain in my chest. It hurt so bad that I almost fell to the floor. I held it I held it all in again like I always did with all of my problems and everything else in my life. I suddenly felt the urge to stay there and never leave, but I didn't I ignored it and continued walking behind Theo.
"What's wrong?" Theo questioned.
Nothing! It's okay... heh! I fake smiled and continued walking.
You're a warrior and you will make this through!
I sucked in the water that was about to leak out of my eyes and took my seat. I was surprised that it was a first-class ticket though. I didn't know Theo would buy such luxury!
Oh my god Theo, thanks so much!!!! This is amazing.
"No problem! Now may I put your bag up for you?" You may! I smiled.
When I sat down on the giant seat I could feel about 20 pairs of eyes staring straight at me. Because I was different? Because I didn't fit in the rich people's world anymore? Not like I was ever really rich... I was just middle class. Nothing too much or little. This was my first time going in the first class though.
"How are you liking it so far huh?" The said as he adjusted his suit. It's like it was made for him. I'm loving it! He took the seat next to me and soon enough the flight attendant started speaking. After about ten minutes of waiting the plane started to move a bit and soon we were taking off!
"Hello, ma would you like something to drink? Yes, I would like a coke, please! She poured the drink and handed it over to me with a huge smile plastered on her face, but I had the feeling she was not excited to work there. She was just doing it to keep her job. After a little while, I saw the flight attendant bringing over a box with a bunch of pouches and giving them to every person in first class, but when the row ended she just looked at the economy class people like shit. And that's when I realized how money changes people... it changes the world in a bad way. Things shouldn't be like that and it bothers me that that's just the reality we live in and there is nothing I can do about it.
I wish I could escape the world sometimes... but I can't. After about 6 boring hours of being on the plane, the captain finally announced that we were going to land in about thirty minutes.
By then Theo was sleeping like a rock and I was wide awake, anxious to see what was waiting for me. When the wheels hit the ground I felt a spike of adrenaline run through me. I'm here! After basically a year I am finally back, back home. Thoughts of what I wanted for my life started emerging in my head out of thin air. What am I going to do with my life? What is my passion? I questioned myself feeling kind of worried about my future. I did not want to be rich or become a billionaire, life is not about money it's not about the stuff you can buy... it's about the moments someone makes that form a story to tell. When I realized I was just staring at the seat with a hypnotized face I shook my head softly and stood up when the seat belt plane signs went off.
"So how did it feel to go on first class?" Theo asked looking tired. It felt amazing I chuckled still kind of lost in my thoughts. Theo looked at me with a confused expression and grabbed the luggage. We were the last ones in the first class to get off the plane, and when we finally did a police guard stopped me and asked for my passport.
"Ma'm is this you?"
Yes?
"We are going to need to see your ID card please."
Okay?
Here! I gave him the ID and he took a nice look at it and then ran off. Shit, he is a fake cop or something. How did I not notice that though? Theo chased after him leaving our luggage with me. The guy did not get far before Theo caught him. He grabbed the guy by his sweatshirt and pulled him back. The guy was very skinny and had a plastic badge that I had noticed was plastic after they grabbed it and threw it on the floor. When Theo was about to snatch the ID the man turned around and pulled a gun. How are there no freaking security guards here it's The United States for god sake! I thought this guy was a guard because his badge looked convincing when no one was touching it. Why me? Why does this shit always happen to me?
I was watching Theo's reaction, but he didn't seem like he was freaking out. He had a calm expression. I came a bit closer to hear what he was about to say. He slowly raised his hands in a surrendering way.
"Look this is the wrong thing to do man...don't do this I know you are not a killer and I know you have a spark of good in you. Everyone has a spark of good in them."
"SHUT UP YOU MORON!" The thief screamed almost crying and wadding the gun at Theo's face. I could see right through the man, he was in deep pain. I could see how much he suffered just by looking at him at that moment. The tone of his voice. The way he wadded the gun. The way his foot turned and wouldn't just stay in place.
"I SWEAR I WILL SHOOT YOU IF I HAVE TO!" His voice was shaky, but he was trying to be threatening. Theo looked at him and then at the gun again. Play smart Theo please don't screw this up. Oh god no don't die, please!
The man took one step backward and Theo used the chance to disarm him. It was so fast that I couldn't see how he did it. Clank! The gun hit the floor. After that, he kicked it away and launched over the thief to snatch my passport and ID card. Once he got a hold of both he put his hands together and held him against the wall waiting for the cops to come.
About two minutes later we saw two cops coming over to Theo.
"Good work there!" One of the real policemen smiled before handcuffing the guy. I slowly approached even closer bringing all the suitcases with me. Okay now that you basically but a criminal in jail we should probably go find a taxi or something.
"Hey, do you mind telling us exactly how this whole thing happened? We need to write a report on this case. We will take you to the police station okay?"
"Yea I don't mind, but the problem is my friend over here needs help getting home," Theo said
"She can find her way!"
Yes, Theo, I can find a way don't worry! I slightly smiled.
Thanks for everything though!
"Anything for you!" His eyes were gleaming and he looked happy for once. He is charming.
I gave him his bag and I watched him as he disappeared into the crowd. Okay now, all I had to do was get a taxi. Hopefully manage to not run into another thief or someone potentially harmful. I observed every taxi very carefully to see which one looked the safest to get. All of the drivers were weird-looking men though so it worried me a bit. Maybe I could call Kelly or something? It had been almost a year since I left so I was kind of nervous to see her again even though I shouldn't be. I dialed her number but went directly to voicemail. Hey, Kelly will pick me up at the airport right now? I need help getting to the Center the area I used to live. I am back home Kelly! I'm finally back!! About an hour after the voicemail she called me back.
Hey, Kell are you available?
She squealed in excitement.
"Of course I am!!"
"I will be there in an hour okay?"
Yup, that's good! I will see you soon!
The line cut and I knew I had to hurry out of the checkout. It normally takes a long time for me to be able to get through the passport checks and all of that boring stuff. Time flew by so fast that I didn't notice I was still going through the identification process for approximately 40 minutes. After going through the boring process I went to get my luggage and get the hell out of that place.
