My father was never the kindest, but I suppose he was better when my mom was alive. She was killed by Lord Voldermort as a way to punish my dad. My dad was Voldermorts main follower in the US and one wrong move got my mom killed. I've never forgiven him

We moved from New York to a place called Little Whinging in England 4 months ago. Being from America the people here seemed so much different from the people in New York. Here people were much more cheery and happy looking. Well compared to New York they could've yelled at you and you'd think they were just being nice.

Since I turned 11 I've been waiting for my acceptance letter to Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. I've even read 'Hogwarts a History' in preparation. I was especially interested in the four houses; Slytheryn,Hufflepuff,Ravenclaw, and Gryfendor. I wasn't sure what house I was gonna be in, I just hoped it wasn't Hufflepuff.

I finally got my letter July 5th after an owl swooped in through the kitchen window dropping it on the table and swiftly flying out again. Opening it I saw the term start date and an item list. Having to wait for my dad to come home from trying to work a muggle job, I decided to take a walk through the neighborhood. It was a small place full of cookie cutter houses and perfectly manicured lawns. I slipped on my black converse and slipped a Jean jacket over my white t-shirt. Walking through the neighborhood with the summer heat blazing and causing me to sweat a bit felt actually a little nice.

I closed my eyes and smelt the soft summer breeze when I felt a ball hit the back of my head. "Watch it!" I yelled and spun around quickly. A blob of a boy appeared behind me.
"Who are you?" He asked flipping his blonde hair out of his face causing his chins to wobble. I stared at his pig-like face with utter dislike. I just turned around and continued walking not wanting to start something. I felt the ball hit my head again. I turned around again. "Where are you going? I asked you a question! What are you stupid or something?" He asked laughing his head tossed back. I balled my fists. I started to stomp up to him when I felt a hand pull me by the wrist. I turned and saw a boy with untidy black hair and glasses.

"Come on he's not worth it" he said looking me in the eyes. I pulled my wrist out of his hand.

"Thanks but I can handle myself" I took my eyes off him and back to the blonde boy who was looking between me and the boy with glasses.

"Awww is this your girlfriend,  freak?" He asked in a sing song voice. With the ball lying at my feet, I quickly picked it up and launched it at his face grinning myself as he yelped. I looked back at the glasses boy and he was smiling.

"We should probably get out of here he's gonna run to my aunt and uncle and probably pin the whole thing on me." He grinned

I locked on his eyes and quickly started walking in the direction I was going in the first place. I heard him on my tail. "So um…are you from here? I've never seen you around before." He said trying to keep conversation. I don't know what made me answer but I did.

"Just moved here a few months ago" I said quietly.

He was about to say something but quickly got cut off by a loud voice "HARRY!" I looked behind us and saw a large purple faced man. The boy rolled his eyes and quickly said-" I'm Harry, in case you ever see me again" he started walking backwards. "Celeste" I mumbled.
"What?!" He asked clearly not hearing me
"My names Celeste. See ya around…" I turned around and started walking again. Turning around one last time I saw him getting pulled by the ears but he managed a short wave.

I walk for a bit more then eventually turn around and walk back to my house figuring my dad would be home by now. I walked up to the driveway seeing my dad's car. I strolled up to the front door and slipped inside. I saw my dad sitting on the couch a glass of water in his hand along with the newspaper.

"My acceptance letter to Hogwarts came in." I say casually walking into the kitchen to retrieve my letter I came back out and handed it to him. He grunted and grabbed it looking over it. "Where do we get this stuff?" He asked eyes scanning over the item list.

"It's a place called Diagon Alley. They have all I would need there." I answer "I know how to get there so you don't need to worry about it I just need you to take me to London."

He grunted again. "We'll go in two weeks."

"Ok…" I answered

There was a minute of silence. I finally crept out of the sitting room and into my own bedroom. I sat down on my bed and slowly leaned back staring at the roof. Nothing on my mind but the black haired boy named Harry.

Two weeks later……….

Getting up at six am, I quickly brushed my long dark blue hair and tied it into a sloppy bun. I quickly finished getting ready and stepped into the kitchen to get some water. I found my dad in there, surprisingly with a plate of eggs and bacon hin his hands. He held it out to me along with a fork.

"...Thanks…" I mumbled slightly in shock.

He nodded. "Sit down and eat. We leave in thirty minutes."

I quietly sit down and start to eat. The eggs was very salty and the bacon slightly burnt but it was the thought that counted I thought to myself. I quickly finished my food and washed my hands. "Ready?" He asked

"Uh yeah just let me grab my bag." I answer running to my room to grab my black satchel. I see my dad's waiting at the front door so I quickly shove on my shoes and grab my Jean jacket off the coat hanger and step out into the sun while my dad locks the door. We both get in the car and start the drive to London.
