The rest of the weekend was uneventful. Julain didn't even invite Ethan to smoke regardless of the eran they ran on friday. It was a given that Ethan was upset, but he was even more upset that he upset in the first place. Julian distanced him self randomly so often that it was expected.
He took a shower on sunday, a quick shower, when he's in there for too long it always leaves him in a shitty mood, and he was already in one. He sent Chris a quick text confirming plans before bed and went to sleep.
Monday, Tuesday, and the first half of Wenesday all went the same; no Julain. Well, Julain was there but he didn't speak to Ethan.
On Monday he tried his best to not let it affect his work or his debate issue. No guy was going to ruin his grades.
He went to the Library with Chris to work on debate, but even he noticed he was off. They worked on it for a little, when Chris told him to go back to his dorm and get some rest, and that they'd continue tomorrow. Ethan felt horrible and guilty, school is something that can't take second priority in his life.
Tuesday was worse, Julain continued to ignore him, and Ethan was even more frustrated. He knew he had to focus since cutting it to the day before was too close. He tried again, this time it was better since very little came between Ethan and his shiny grades. He still felt like he wasn't doing his best though.
Tuesday night he made a plan, he would confront Julain about it. Since clearly he did something maybe something was going on. He just really wanted an answer or an explanation. He also needed to get back to focusing on school work.
Wenesday came, and Ethan was pretty sure he was going to chicken out, he wanted to. Fortunately, he ran into him right before lunch, literally.
"Whoops, sorry," Ethan said looking up to see who he bumped into, "Oh..."
Julian didn't say anything, he almost walked away but Ethan grabbed his wrist when he started leaving.
"What's your deal?" Ethan asked with his face all scrunched as Julian turned around to face him.
"What do you mean?"
"Oh, come on. Why have you been ignoring me... or I don't know avoiding? I thought we were friends," Ethan said looking at his dark eyes.
"We are," Julain looked away, he never looks away. In all honesty that gave Ethan a boost in confidence.
"Then what's wrong?"
"Nothing. I'm sorry," Julain mumbled.
"For?"
"Avoiding you," He said a little louder
"So you were avoiding me? Why?"
"I don't know, but I'm sorry and I'll stop."
"But you dont know why?"
Julain just shook his head.
"It's fine I guess, it's be nice if you stopped doing that so often though,"
"You've noticed?"
"Uhm... yeah, I have," Ethan finally let go of Julian's wrist. It was nice hearing him say he'd stop, he just hoped he actually meant it
He went to lunch as Julian walked in a different direction, towards the library.
"Hey, Chris?" Ethan asked when he sat down.
"Yeah?" Chris answered with his mouth full.
"Do you know Julains birthday?"
" Yeah I actually do, it's in a couple of months why?" Chris asked swallowing his food.
"No reason, just wondering."
