Draco's body may kiss Potter, but his mind travelled back in time.

When he tries to remember his Hogwarts years, his mind breaks in two, mainly because there are good moments and bad moments.

When he remembers his first year at school, he can recall the fear and nervousness on the first day, he was afraid of not being accepted into Slytherin, and he thought of what his father said to him about Uncle Sirius, "Everything went wrong with him when he was accepted into Gryffindor, and then he deviated and left his family to have bad relationships. He's a disgrace." Draco was afraid of this, he did not want to be a disgrace, and the thought of abandoning his mother was anathema to him.

But he can also remember without a doubt the moment the hat brought Harry Potter to Gryffindor. It was obvious to anyone who could see it that Potter would become the perfect Gryffindor. He was the son of James Potter and Lily Potter, the two heroes of the wizarding world, the two conquerors of evil. Draco can still remember the sting of disappointment, though he tried to forget it at the time.

After that, his memories of the first through third years of school were normal. Learning, friends, expectations, Harry Potter. He could see Potter being friends with everyone in his house, he could hear him laughing, and he could even hear the prayers of all the professors, all except Severus, his godfather, who was always trying to humiliate him.

But in fourth year everything changed. Two striking events occurred that year that changed his world. The first was the Triwizard Tournament, where he cheered for a Hufflepuff, which his father despised and even tried to punish him for. The sting of the past and the beatings were something he will always remember, along with his father's words, "The thing that scares me the most is that you will be a traitor to your family and your house. How could you! Useless idiot!". " Father was a little strict because he loves me and wants to protect all of us," he can remember trying to excuse him.

But that was not the only important event that year. Just before Christmas, Lily Evans Potter succumbed to death.

The newspapers were unbearable. They did not understand that a child and a husband were grieving, and so the remaining Potters went into hiding for three months.

Draco Malfoy recalled that he had not thought much about it at the time until he was entering his fifth year at school and news was popping up in every newspaper and every mouth that could talk.

James Potter was getting married again, just a year after the death of the famous and wonderful Lily Evans. And he was going to marry a Black ! A man from a family that everyone knows is allied with the Dark Lord, a man who has embraced the Dark Mark, a man who disappeared at eighteen and reappeared at twenty, months after the Dark Lord lost the war and died.

Lucius Malfoy said to Draco one night when he had had too much to drink, "We all know that our Lord wanted a perfect world, a world where our customs would not disappear, a world where we could live without fear of the Muggles hating us. A world of freedom for the just and powerful wizards of Well. But all that ended because our master had a flaw. Draco, you must understand why the dark lord died. It was not because he was weak, he was not, it was not because he underestimated Dumbledore and his minions, he was aware of the danger to his perfect world. His mistake was that he believed fear was the only thing he needed to control his men. He relied too much on fear and did not understand the minds of his subordinates as we do. I remember that time all too well, we had a spy in their ranks, a spy who died too easily because he was a coward. But we thought that was all, we did not know we had spies in our ranks."

"Godfather, we all know he was with them," Draco replies, hearing his father's laughter.

"Oh, yes, that was a surprise! But I think there was another, one that was not too obvious, one that was too young, one that no one would suspect, not even our Lord. And that was a mistake ..."

"Who?"

His father's answer was, "I have my suspicions, but I can not confirm anything." And that was it, his father changed the subject and a minute later retreated to his chamber.

But this conversation never left Draco's mind, and on the days when the engagement of Uncle Regulus and James Potter was announced, the same discussion revived. Now he understood.

But that was not the end. That same year, Harry Potter approached him.

"What do you know about Regulus, Malfoy?" he asked in the middle of the library, where Draco was talking to Theo Nott about notes in Transformation.

"Why are you asking me? He's going to become part of your family. Although he already is, being your godfather Sirius' brother," Draco replied and Harry visibly winced.

Harry replied, "But he's more connected to your side of the family."

"So are we family now?" Draco asked with a smile. He did not understand why he was playing with Potter, but it was funny to see him deflect like that.

"No!" Potter shouted and a second later he was gone.

That was not the only time Potter approached him, Draco was sure of that, and would find his answer the next day when Potter appeared out of nowhere and pushed him behind a statue.

"May, may, Potter, what do you want me to do?"

"You do not understand."

"Then explain to me why you are making me hide behind it like we are criminals?"
