*BEEP*
*BEEP*
*BEEP*
The infernal screech of an alarm clock echoed throughout the dull grey room, its annoying melody alerting its slumbering owner of what time rested on its digital face.
However, the person in question could care less about what time it was since it was doing nothing but scolding her.
'It's 6:30! Time for school! Get up already!' it screamed.
Balling up a fist and summoning all her agitation into a single motion, she slammed it down on the snooze button, causing the unsuspecting device to tumble off its nightstand with one last pitiful *BEEP*.
Poor thing didn't even see it coming.
With a groan she sat up, sleep still clouding her vision. It was barely even morning, the sun just starting its usual crawl over the horizon. Rays began to appear between the parted curtains as that bright ball of fire arced through the sky. But it didn't bring her any warmth. Instead, it served as an ugly reminder of just what day it is.
She hated Mondays. She hated them with a burning passion that could rival even that of the sun.
If Monday were a person, she'd personally throw them out a window. Or hit them with a chair. One of those options. Maybe even both if she was feeling up to it.
It was the end of the weekend and now she had to walk back into hel– school.
Homework, quizzes, bullies, and an overall gloomy atmosphere awaited her. The homework and quizzes didn't really bother her all too much and she normally wouldn't care about such trivial things. But it was no longer an option to simply ignore them like she usually did. Not to mention, it was starting to get cold outside, making the early morning trudge across campus even more unbearable.
There were days where she wished she didn't have to go, or at least just sleep in and show up late like she used to do. But unfortunately, her roommate wouldn't allow it.
She looked up as she heard the familiar knock on her bedroom door, said roommate lightly rapping her knuckles against the painted wood.
A light and airy voice, muffled by the wood, called out to her from the other side. "Seraphina? Are you up yet? I made some orange juice for breakfast if you want some!"
The girl sighed at the presence of the blue haired healer as she rose from her bed, her short magenta hair sticking out in all directions. "I'm up Elaine! I'll be out there in a few minutes."
Once the footsteps subsided, Seraphina started her usual routine as she grabbed her uniform, her extensions draped lazily on the table. She was thankful she made sure to brush them out nightly, less they become one large mess of a bird's nest.
It took her a while to get moving, but once she was ready and freshened up, she walked out to the kitchen where her roommate was holding a glass of orange juice and a croissant.
Hopping onto one of the empty bar stools near the counter, she watched her roommate whose hair was comically twisted in a singular, large curler tucked in the curve of her neck.
Upon seeing her, Elaine held the food and drink up slightly, making a silent offer.
Seraphina nodded. "Yeah, I'll have some."
