3rd persons POV

Asteria still hadn't said anything about what happened to her. She just kept quiet throughout the conversation and held onto Kane as if her life depended on it.

Kane didn't force her to speak about what has happened but inside it was driving him insane. The urge to murder someone kept increasing with every horrifying minute.

Damien didn't know what to do and how to react all he knew though was that his niece was hurting and he could nothing about it. That thought alone made him want to punch the nearest object around him but he didn't and tried to keep his calm.

Amelia noticed how the imperfect family of three tried to hide their emotions. She was stuck in a weird position and all she thought was how all of this was her fault. If only she hadn't proposed the idea of going to the park or maybe if she had asked Asteria to play with her on the swings or if..

And the list of what ifs continued in her mind as she subconsciously blamed herself for spoiling a day that could have been looked back upon with smiling faces. She could do nothing about it and the feeling of helplessness was what she hated the most.

While everyone was lost in their own thoughts the little girl was very vigilant as she clung onto her father for the sense of security that she always felt when he held her in his arms. She didn't know how to tell her father what she had witnessed when he was not here.

Right now all she wanted was her mommy even though she loved her father alot but there are somethings that can only be shared between the mother and daughter. Mommy-baby secrets was what her mother had always told her as she protected her from their captors.

Finally Damien not being able to handle his anger anymore suddenly stood up startling everyone as he stormed off in the opposite direction.  Amelia ran behind him knowing very well what he was planning to do but this was not the right time she told herself as she hurried to tell him the same.

Asteria startled from her uncles strange behaviour cowered and his into her daddy's chest and big arms which she found were very fascinating. They had drawings on them and she also wished to get one when she grew up.

Kane looked at his brother and then at his angel as she hid in his arms probably startled from his behaviour. He sighed as he finally mustered up the courage and asked Asteria what had happened for he thought that this was the right time.

Asteria was stunned at her father's question she was scared that he might get angry at her but she knew that if she didn't tell him then also he will get angry. So she decided to tell him because her mommy had told her when she was a little kid to always tell the truth and own up to your mistakes.

Asteria didn't want to let her mommy down so she told everything to her father not knowing that she had awakened the devil who was blind with anger and only out for blood.

Replaying...

Asteria took off as soon as her aunt declared that she was going to count. Her mommy could never find Asteria because she was so good at the game. She always ended up winning and her mommy would wine about it while she giggled and and then she would get punished for it as she got a visit from the tickle monster.

She sighs at the thought as she misses her mommy terribly. Finally hiding behind the few big trees and bushes she giggled to herself knowing her aunt could never find her.

Suddenly she was yanked harshly backwards as someone covered her mouth with their rough and cold hands muffling her scream.

"Dwaaaamdy"

"Shut up you bitch! Not a word you understand NOT A WORD" Asteria stared at the familiar stranger with a terrified expression he was holding a gun to her head and she was scared. She wanted to go to her mommy and daddy.

She didn't like this person one bit as he whisper yelled at her angrily. His voice was so creepy and scary for the little girl that she stayed quiet and stood their trembling.

"Now that's like a good girl! I don't know why your mommy always hid you from me when you are a better version of her..."

He yanked her pony tail open and it hurt alot but she didn't scream she tried her best to keep quiet because she didn't want to make the man angry. Before he could do anything more she heard her aunt saying her name as she looked for her.

She somewhat felt a bit better knowing that she would come anytime to save her from the bad man. The creepy man looked at her as he gave her a scary smirk as he leaned forward to whisper in her ear.

"I'll be leaving now Asteria but I will come back for you after mommy misses you alot! I'll take you to her.."

He pushed her away with such force that she fell on her knees as he ran away from there. Asteria sat there frozen for a second and then she ran. She ran towards the direction she knew her daddy was in.

She cried as her knee hurt a bit while she ran with tears streaming down her face. She sprinted past Amelia towards where she believed her daddy was ignoring Amelia's calls.

She ran and ran until she saw her daddy who looked at her with concern and a scared expression. He held something in his hands which he hid before Asteria could see anything as she ran into his open arms.

It didn't matter to Asteria what it was right now all she was looking for was the safety and homely feeling she felt in her daddy's arms as he pulled her into his chest carrying her to she didn't care where.

She knew that her daddy would always keep her safe and so would her uncle and aunt because they were family.

And her mommy had always told her  that "No matter how angry I get at you baby I can never unlove you okay? because that's what family is all about no matter how much we get angry or hurt each other we can never and I mean never ever stop loving each other...Te amo principessa.."
