Agnes woke up with her forehead against Kay's back and at first she wondered why the hell she was so close to her but then remembered that last night, she had given up her sleeping bag for Jake and Steve and she slowly turned over. She saw Jake flat out with the sleeping bag pushed down to his waist and his hands were clasped over his stomach, she was a little mad at that, because his abs were beautiful. She carefully crawled out of the sleeping bag so as to not wake up Kay, and as she got onto her knees, she realised Steve wasn't in the tent and figured, or rather hoped, he may have been getting breakfast started because staring at Jake was making her hungry and she wasn't sure if it was her stomach or vagina that needed stuffed.

She crawled out of the tent and saw Steve doing some press ups, feeling slightly sad that he hadn't started breakfast or even lit a fire. She cleared her throat as she shoved her boots on, watching him tuck his legs up so he could stand up and he nodded his head at her.

"If you're gonna get up first, you need to start a fire."

"The wood was too wet," he panted as he shoved his hands on his hips. "I was gonna go in search of some dryer wood once I finished working out." He licked the sweat off his upper lip and she nodded.

"It'll light if you just use more tinder and kindling, if you're gonna lie about it then at least make a better case." She raised her eyebrows at him as he was about to say something to her and he decided not to. "Intelligent, my ass."

He chuckled. "I'm sorry. I just thought if I started the fire, the smoke would wake everyone up and I really just needed to be by myself for a little bit and I started working out."

"What were you doing?"

"I wanted to map out a route because I think there's a small village a few days walk away and I thought we could maybe stay there for a night or two before we head to the small town that's just before the remaining patch of jungle we need to go through before we reach Max's compound. I just," he shrugged and looked to the tent and back at Agnes. "I don't want to come in here and take over but it's just in my nature to lead so I don't know if I should have even made those kind of plans without asking you and I'm sorry but I think it's the best way forward."

"I think it sounds good," she nodded. "But I think you should maybe talk to Hoots about it too, she's a stubborn bitch. She doesn't like it when you just spring something on her or tell her what to do."

"I'd noticed." He grinned as he picked up one of their bags, strapping it on and doing some squats.

"She'll like your plan, she might not act like it but she will." Agnes watched as Steve was really nailing the squats. "So, I'll leave you to do whatever it is you're doing and I'll start a fire and make us breakfast."

Jake woke himself up with a snort and forgot where he was for a moment, rubbing his eyes before he put his glasses on and seeing Kay over the other side of the tent. She stirred before shoving her arm over her eyes and he shimmied out of the sleeping bag. He didn't even need to to check if his clothes were dry because he could see that they were still soaked and he would need to hang them up. He was only in his boxers and he knew that Steve and Agnes were obviously outside and he was gonna have to walk across to his bag to get dry clothes and he was going to have to do that in front of Agnes and possibly Kay if she woke up. He was a little shy walking around in his boxers in front of them, he needed a few days to warm up and be his normal self, right now even he knew he was being an awkward fuck.

He grabbed his boots and shoved them on, not bothering to lace them up because he was just going to take them off again when he changed. He unzipped the tent and as he made the move to get out, his view consisted of Agnes basically doing a downward dog as she tried to get the kindling and tinder to smoke.
