Brayden sits down next to me while the teacher finishes taking role.

"So what is your idea for the project?" I ask him.

"Wow, I literally just walked into the door and you're already talking about science. What is up with you?" He asks with a laugh.

I laugh in return. "I don't know. I'm just really excited to find out what you have planned to be honest. Mainly because I have no idea what to do for this project." I say with a laugh.

He laughs a little bit to. "I thought that we should do a bit of history about each of the chemicals and do pictures of them during the chemical reaction."

"That sounds like a really great idea, thanks." I say with a smile.

"You're welcome I already have a diagram of it now and I already got the tri-fold and all the notes for it." He says with a smile.

"Now I feel bad I didn't even do anything." I say feeling really bad that he's basically doing all of the work.

"Alyssa, the project isn't over yet. I still have to figure out how exactly to do the poster board like decorate it and stuff. Actually I was hoping that maybe you could go to my baseball game today and then after it you could come over to my house and we can work on it a little bit. If that's okay with you and your parents." He says a bit nervous.

I think a little bit of what my mom would say. She's always been strict on me about those things, but it is just for a project so she would probably be fine with it. "Yeah I'm pretty sure my mom will be fine with it, but it depends what time will the game end?"

"The game will probably end around 6:30 so if you come to my house maybe leave around 7:30 to 8:00ish, and if you don't mind me asking what about your dad?"

Of course he would ask that question why wouldn't he everyone always does. I don't even know why, or why it makes me so mad when people ask. Maybe I'm just tired of telling the same damn story of how my dad didn't want me. I guess it could be worse. Neither one of my parents could've wated me I guess.

"They got a divorce." That's all I say usually, because I don't want to get into the whole story and I don't want someone throwing some kind of a pitty party for me. As long as he doesn't ask why or something I'll be fine. When people do that I usually get smart with them and say because they wanted to.

"Oh." He responds. A one word answer. The shortest response I ever got when I told someone that. Honestly though that's also the best response I got.

------------------

The game was really good. Brayden even got a whole bunch of homeruns. My mom said I was aloud to go to his house on the condition that I text her every now and then and that when she texts me I'll answer back within at least 5 minutes. I go down the bleachers to wait for Brayden on the front row. One f my friends that is also on the baseball team, Sawyer came up to me.

"Hey Alyssa." Sawyer says with his beautiful smile. I swear he has the straightest teeth ever. I had braces on twice and my teeth aren't even that perfect. I've always envied him about that and he says that he has always envied mine to because they're so straight.

"Hey Sawyer, you guys played a great game today." I say with a smile as well.

"Thanks. Brayden played a lot better then he usually does. I guess it's because he was trying to show off for his 'lady friend.'" He says with a wink and then runs off into the locker room.

We arrive at Brayden's house and it is really nice. Everything is so clean and neat. Even his room which is kind of shocking. We start to work on the project and we're having a lot of fun with it. It looks really pretty to. We're finished with almost everything, and I'm really proud of it.

"It looks so beautiful," Brayden says looking at th poster then at me, "Not nearly as beautiful as you though." He says then looks into my eyes, then down to my lips, then back to my eyes again. Is he about to do what I think he is?
