Søren is a very quiet, and rather awkward soul; he doesn't interact with people often, and it shows. He's a man of very, very few words to say the least, he doesn't talk all that often, even when suddenly pushed into a social situation; he tends to keep his thoughts to himself unless compelled to share his opinion or responses to something, and even when he is prompted to speak he usually keeps to very short, sometimes one word, to avoid talking. When he does decide to speak up, as rare as that is, it's best to take his words as they're presented as he is as honest as can be; he doesn't seem capable of lying to most, as even when he is quite hesitent about sharing a potentially hurtful truth he still does it, and only says things he believes to be the truth in some way. Søren is fiercely loyal to those he had managed to form a bond with, as very few manage to get to that point, he is incapable of turning his back on someone he cares about even out of self preservation; if they need him then he'll be right by their side no matter what may come of him by doing so, even if it means being right there until the very bitter end. He's prone to being rather... Overprotective of those who have earned his devotion, even when they really don't want him to do so; he can overreact to potential threats no matter how small they actually are and insists on taking on tasks and battles that they likely can handle by themselves, he wants to be sure these people are safe and easily forgets where the line between helpful and overbearing lies. This sheppard doesn't really know how to respond to positive attention, especially not when its in the form of affection; it's not that he dislikes it, something he will do his best to make clear, rather its just so unfamilar to him that he often freezes up or gets flustered by even smaller acts of kindness in his effort to both process everything and respond appropriately as quickly as possible. Søren is quite the pessimist, often finding himself preparing for the worst possible outcomes and catastrophizing to the point he sends himself into an inescapable fit of worry and anxiety; he can talk himself down at times, reminding himself that the odds of whatever horrible situation he's thought up happening are very slim, but an unfortunate amount of the time he only notices he might be falling into a rabbit hole once it's already happened.
