"God dammit, what now?" I mumbled as I picked myself back up. Looking back up, the tree was replaced with what appeared to be a rip in time and space itself. It looked like a portal; however, on the other side was just a dark void.

My body rendered itself paralyzed, torn at what to do. Do I run? Or do I go to the other side...?

Realistically, no rational human being would dare to cross. Though, my own intuition is telling me otherwise. And at this very moment, it seems it's guts over brains. Nonetheless, there doesn't seem like I have any other options. Though honestly, this sort of "this random entity/force is calling me" vibe is reeking of cringe main character energy.

I physically shake my head as an attempt to alleviate the thoughts that were racing through my head. I allowed myself to heave a sigh, preparing myself for whatever is to occur next.

"I hope on the other side of this thingy majiggy is a [favorite artist/band/group] concert..." I say to myself as a sad attempt to relieve myself of the raging stress that was coursing through my body.

"One.." I place my first step forward.
"Two..." and another...
"And..." I pause a bit, shutting my eyes for a moment, before..
"Three!" I dive myself through the portal, my body immediately cringing and shivering as I was greeted with frigid temperature. I reopened my eyes to see myself plunging from a high height. Frighteningly peering around and taking in my surroundings, it seemed that I was just falling down a ceaseless void.

"Okay seriously, what the fuck." I'm honestly done with this bullshit. Did I seriously trap myself in a void like a dumbass all because I wanted to feel like a protagonist? That's just depressing. (self-ridiculing as a coping mechanism hahaha)

Coincidentally, when I fooled myself into thinking this was it, my surroundings began to alter once again.

"Can't I get a break...?"

I seemed to still remain plummeting down; however, I seemed to have slowed down. Almost as if I was falling on the moon. Gravity felt to have changed.

Suddenly, a holographic screen/monitor appeared in front of me. At first, it only played TV static. It suddenly changed into what appeared to be a memory.

[Insert the first memory you've had, as in, infant/toddler stage]

(call me lazy for not wanting to write you all your own memory, but I feel as if that'd take away from the immersive "reader" perspective y'know? Hope you all understand)

"This is my memory, isn't it..? -wait why am I talking out loud, no one can hear me-"

Another screen popped up to the right of me, the other one kept replaying that memory.
