I tapped one of the containers, and the spiders swarmed. The container wasn't sealed properly, and one managed to crawl out. My new spider senses alerted me, which I had discovered felt like a small shock, and I flicked it back inside the container and fixed the seal. I shuddered.

Why had I suddenly grown so twitchy over spiders? It didn't use to be that way. When Peter first told me his web-slinging secret, he showed me the spider that had bitten him.

I had called it beautiful.

Now the sight of radioactive spiders just makes me cringe and gag. What is so different between then and now?

1. Peter's spider was dead.
2. Peter's spider was not crawling around because it was dead.
3. The destiny of Peter's spider was not to bite me.
4. His spider was not a secret from me.
5. My spiders are secrets from him.

I couldn't take it anymore. I closed off the airway to the spiders' containers. They had to be destroyed. As hours passed, they died off. Perhaps Richard Parker had a faster, more effective way to destroy his spiders before he fled Norman Osborn.

Before I destroyed the spiders, I extracted their webbing. This was an extremely difficult task. I also extracted the thingies that make the webbing, whatever they were called. Perhaps I could somehow use them to produce more webs. Otherwise, I'd have to sneak into Oscorp and raid their supply.

The same supply Peter gets his webbing from.

Peter first designed his webshooters as old watches. I started with that, although I just bought cheap watches from Walmart. This time, my disguise was a red wig, darker makeup, and skimpy clothing. I felt a bit awkward walking around in that outfit, but no one knew who I was, and no one would have to know. I was running out of money for more costumes.

---

"Yes!" I said to myself, having successfully completed one webshooter. The accuracy was outstanding. So that was why Peter used that design. I guessed, anyway.

No. He used the design because those were the materials he had. And he made those materials work.

I missed Peter.

A lot.
