On June 19, 2015 is our last day of school. We only had two hours to say our goodbyes. We also had our last school mass at 9:00 am. Everything happens so fast.
Miss Impelli was kind enough to make us end of the year goodie bags with a special message:
"You're a very special person, and I want you to know, how I loved to be your teacher, how fast the weeks did go! Please come back to visit me as through the grades you grow. Try hard to learn all that you can there is so much to know! The one thing I tried to teach you to last your whole life through, is to know that you are special just because you are you!"
I wanted to cry when I first read this. It meant so much to me.
After the mass culminated, we went outside into the yard to receive our report cards. Once all of the report cards were distributed, we had a final group hug. We said our final goodbyes to all of our classmates and teachers.
This time, it felt different. Next year will be our final year together. We have all known each other since we were babies and it will be so hard to say goodbye. I can't imagine not seeing them ever again. These goodbyes were sentimental this year. We all hugged each other so tightly. And I said, "I am never letting go."
And so, that's the story of our dysfunctional family. That's how we became just teens.
