It was 11 in the evening by the time yukti came back. Turning the doorknob slowly and the creaky sound of filled the silent house. She dusted her shoes on the doormat and quietly made her way inside. It's obvious that her wife is already sleeping on their shared room. She removed the tie around her neck and had a tired sigh. yukti made her way to the kitchen with the only light source in the house.
As she entered the kitchen, she saw a covered plate on top of the table, that is neatly placed. She smiles upon seeing it and puts down her things on the chair.
She read the note on the top and it was clearly gulki's writting. Yukti took the note and inserted in her notebook with the other notes she had been collecting. With the short yawn she reheated the soup and started to eat silently.
It sure is too boring if you're alone in the house as large as their's house. it was no mystery why gulki complains on being alone but yukti can't afford gulki to tire herself out. It have been long time since they set together on dining table and eat while talking to each other happily.
Hopefully yukti can take a short break and spend some time with her beloved wife. After finishing her meal, she washed the remaining plates. She throw the trash out. She locks the main door as she entered the main door again. She hears footsteps on the stairs she looks up and saw gulki half asleep while rubbing her right eye. "Yukku" she whispered as she approached her. Gulki must have woken up from the sound of opening the door earlier.
"I'm here" yukti replied as she gave gulki a hug and peck on her lips. Gulki hummed and leaned to her husband a litle"kya app ne khana kha liya?" . the sleepiness in her voice is very visible and yukti finds it adorable "hm, thankyou" she replied and she led gulki back in the bedroom. yukti immediately changes her clothes and went to bed with her wife. "Eat breakfast with me tomorrow, " gulki whispers as she snuggle closer to her husband. Yukti wasn't sure if she can join her for breakfast, since she usually needs to go early for meeting. But just to avoid starting argument, she simply said "thik hai " A contented hum was heard from the other and slowly, they doze off to sleep.
Sometime when Yukti come home she gets to feel light and warm since Gulki is awake to welcome her back but there are a times that Gulki isn't there to greet her. She's fast asleep and all Yukti could do is to sleep too. Or the worst case is that they argue and ended up with not sleeping on the same bed.
This night is a good one, Yukti glad that Gulki is no longer angry with her and same goes to herself. Hope that tomorrow will be better.

Gulki wakes up with an empty space beside her. She frowns that her husband is nowhere to be seen. So early in the morning her mood is ruined. So much for eating breakfast with her. She get up from the bed and wore her bunny slippers.
She Sees a small note on the nightstand sying, "sorry I've get to work early today. I just had an urgent meating , see you tonight." After reading the note Gulki immediately crumpled the note and throw in the small bin. "It always like this, its the 6th note this week." She whispered to herself and made her way downstairs.
The other women may be petty but she's still actually upset, the fact that Yukti wouldn't let her work in the city. Gulki started her morning routine. She first eat her breakfast and clean the dishes. After that she tried to finish the paper cranes. Resting for a while, she stood up and went to the garden. The soft clean breeze made her feel relaxing and it was very calming. Gulki made her way to the huge maple tree outside. She stays in the shade for while and sat down on the trunk slowly closing her eyes to take a short nap.
The tree has been there ever since they bought the land and built the house. Yukti thought of cutting it down to extend the space but Gulki immediately stoped her.
Now that she thinks of it, she actualy carved something on the tree. Fluttering her eyes open she stood up. Gulki dusted her pants and immediately looked for it.
After a good there minutes of looking for it. It was only above her head. Gulki smiled at the carved numbers: 1438. "Ah, it's still here even after all this time." She whispers to herself and traced her finger on the lines of the tree. Gulki guess that Yukti didn't see this what time does she have to go to the garden? She's always gone. They barely have the time to be together.
Gulki went back inside and finish the paper cranes.

It was 4 in the afternoon and surprisingly Yukti came back early. "I'm home" she says simply and Gulki immediately went out the kitchen and found her husband at the door. Her heart flutter and she feel extremely happy. "App itni jaldi kese agye" Gulki said and hugs Yukti.
"hum ajj office jaldi gye the toh kaam bhi jaldi khatam ho gya" she explains and nuzzles her nose in Gulki's nape
"Stop that its ticklish! Hahaha!" Her wife complains between her laugh. She wished that it was always like this. No fightings. No arguments. No cursing. most of all no broken feeling."Since you're early, then help me to make dinner" Gulki said and dragged her hubby to the kitchen with smile on her face.
"Alright' but no spicey dishes this time" Yukti said and Gulki just laughed once again. It was music to the other women's ears.
