The first day started off as awkward of course. Well who wouldn't be? They faught like mad dogs yesterday and now, the two of them are currently in the kitchen making breakfast together. "I'm not really fond of playing house game," Yukti muttered and Gulki grips the spatula tightly, with a sigh, she sets her feelings aside. "Yukku, you agreed to do this."

Yukti didn't say anything in reply as they continued to cook. The kitchen was filled with the delicious aroma of chicken soup. Gulki dips the wooden brown spatula and takes a good amount of soup then slowly blows it. She truns to face her husband who was busy chopping some vegetables. "Yukku," she calls out softly and the said woman truned to face her. "Try it, let me know if it tastes weird," Gulki finished as she holds the spatula carefully.

Yukti's eyes glances at her burnt hand for a second and her heart clenched for a sec. With a sigh, she leans forward and takes a sip. "It tastes pretty good," she complimented and Gulki immediately brighten upon hearing her words. "Okay, now I need that vegetables of yours," she said as she continued to stir the soup. Yukti hums in reply and not too long, she puts the vegetables and mixes it with the soup.

To her surprise,  there was a comfortable silence surrounding them and it felt very peaceful and calming. The two eventually finished cooking and ate in the dinning table.

Gulki was busy contenplating on what to talk about, work is a big no and there's nothing really to talk about. She sighs softly as she continued to eat, suddenly someone's phone rang. Yukti immediately stands up without a second thought and left without saying word. Gulki tightly grips the utensils in hands and stared at the meal in front of her.

"Hello? Ah yeah, I can't visit you for a few days," Yukti's voice wasn't too loud nor too quiet. It was just right for Gulki to hear what she was saying. She knew who it already, who she  was talking to. The new person she loves.

Gulki was close to finishing her meal and Yukti just returned. "Sorry about that... It was a call, from, uh, work," she explained and Gulki gave her a smile, "it's okay," she replied softly and finished her meal quietly.

"Do we have plans for today?" Yukti asked and Gulki came to an abrupt stop.  Why is yukku asking? She's not intersted, right? "If you don't mind, I just want to make paper crans," she whispered and lowered her head. "That's alright," Yukti replied as she finished her food.

After washing the dishes they went to the living room and Gulki takes out the box and gently place it on the small living room table. "Alright, I'm gonna show you a video on how to make them," Gulki pauses for a bit and glances at her burnt hand wrapped in bandages. "Since my other hand is unavilable..." she whispered as she takes out her other phone and plays the video in front of Yukti.

Yukti didn't complain as she watches the video quietly and Gulki was already contented with Yukti in front of her and willing to tolerate her for a little longer. Her heart ached that after three days, they will be no more than strangers. After ten minutes of watching the video, Gulki puts her phone down and said, "so, did you get it?"

"Yeah but I'm still a bit confused," her husband replied as she tales a sheet of origami paper. "Don't worry, I'll tell you what to do next."

They quietly worked together and when Yukti forgets a step,  Gulki will immediately tell her what to do with a smile and guided her. The first few cranes wasn't much of a success since Yukti still didn't quite get the hang of it but Gulki just laughs at it and says, "It's okay, there are still a lot more papers."

They continued to fold paper cranes until afternoon came by. Time was surely fast when you're having fun. It was honestly a surprise for both of them since the silence that surrounded them was comfortable and warm. "Okay, so how many did we make?" Yukti asks as she leans on the couch and stretches her arms.

"Wow, 1004 of them," Gulki said in amazement. "Truly, you're the only one who made it." Gulki said with a chuckle as she looks at the different colors of the paper cranes scattered on the table and floor. Upon hearing the 1004 number, Yukti remembered something but she immediately puts the thought at the back of her mind. "Really? That's really a lot. Didn't you... make paper cranes, too?" Yukti asks cautiously and Gulki froze for a bit and replied, "Ah yeah, I did finish it but i accidentally threw away the others when i was fixing..." She explained as she averts Yukti gaze.

"I'm sorry," Yukti whispered and Gulki's breath hitches. "Ahaha, it's okay..." she replied as she grips at the carpet, controlling her feelings when her heart started aching once more. "Let's fix a bit and I'll prepare us some snacks," Gulki said quickly and stood up. "Gulki," Yukti starts and Gulki came to an abrupt stop on fixing the cranes. "What is it?" She answered without looking at her husband.

"I...I'm really sorry," she said once more and Gulki's lips quivered and  God, her eyes were being watery again. She didn't really want to hear her to say sorry. Because sorry for what? For throwing the cranes at the fire? For this burnt hand? Or for not loving her anymore? Her heart was hurting so bad that she even held her breath from the pain. She bites her lower lip and gave a shakey breath. "I told you, it's okay..."

It was not okay. It never was in the first place. She felt extremely broken and there's actually nothing she can do about it. After saying those words, Gulki didn't finish fixing as she quickly excused herself and went to the kitchen to prepare snacks. Yukti sighs as she clenches her hand for a bit and couldn't help but feel her heart twist.

They really didn't do much on the first day since they were still adjusting and it was still a bit too awkward. All they did was just the paper cranes, eating snacks and then fixing the house together since it was getting a bit dusty. Night time came and it was the first time for them to sleep together at the same bed for a long time. "Good night, yukku" Gulki whispered softly as she yawns and Yukti hums a bit and replied, "Good night, Gulki."

Yukti didn't know why, but for the first time in a very long time, it was one of the most pleasant sleep she ever had.

Remember to tell me how is it?
