La Isla Arcadia

Kabanata 1

"Welcome home Señorita Thiana. Kanina pa po kayo hinihintay ni Señora Irinea." Anang kasambahay sa bunsong anak ng La Cuesta na kakadating lamang sa isla mula sa Manila.

"Thanks. And for the nth time, can you please drop the señorita. Just Thiana. It feels so awkward." The young lady just smiled and she was accompanied by the maids going inside the Mansion.

La Cuesta family was known as the prime owner of the Island. It was owned by late Señor Tenorio La Cuesta and now passed to his late grand son Señor Mikael La Cuesta. They we're also known as the kindest people here in the island. Peacemaker and the ones who solved problems that are and might happened within the island.

"Anak! Omg I missed you so much!" Payakap na salubong ni Señora Irinea kay Thiana. "How have you been? Kamusta ang Maynila?"

"Still Manila, mom. And I missed you too! "

"Have you eaten? We have foods here. Come here. I'll give you some." Señora Irinea said as the maids put all the foods on a large and long table.

"Geez. Kaya love ko kayo eh. Tuwing uuwi ako dito laging parang may fiesta." The young lady joked.

Sa gitna ng pagkwekwentuhan ng mag-ina, biglang dumating ang panganay na anak ni Irinea La Cuesta at Mikael La Cuesta na si Khalil La Cuesta.

"Hey mom. Oh, hey there Thiana umuwi ka pala?" Nakangiting bati nito sa bunsong kapatid at niyakap.

"Uhm 30 minutes ago perhaps?" Thiana unsurely said. "Nasan si kuya Jerome?" Tanong ni Thiana sa pangalawa nilang kapatid na si Jerome La Cuesta.

"Nasa barko padin. Kasama ang Tito Leo mo."

Leo La Cuesta is the youngest brother of Señor Mikael La Cuesta. Halos kaedad lang din ni Khalil si Leo kaya mas napapagkamalan silang mag pinsan. Leo was assigned to look after their marine transportation alongside with Jerome. While Khalil was assigned for the other properties they owned in the whole island. While Thiana, she declined her father's offer to be one of their heiress because she wants to pursue her dream that is to be a doctor. Thiana is currently living in Manila to study in Med School na suportado naman ng buong pamilya. Umuuwi lamang si Thiana sa isla kapag wala itong ginagawa sa eskwelahan at tuwing bakasyon. La Cuesta also have an adopted daughter. She's Gabriella Mendez La Cuesta. Her parents died in a accident when she's still a baby. Gabriella's biological parents are friends with Señor Mikael kaya sakanya ipinaubaya ng mga yumaong kaibigan ang kanilang kaisa isang anak. She's almost the same age as Jerome.

"So how's Arcadia?" Tanong ni Thiana habang tinitikman ang carbonara.

"Good. And oh! I forgot! I convinced your dad to prepare for a big special event. And he agreed!" Irinea excitedly said.

"What is it?" Her son and daughter asked.

"A welcome party." Irinea proudly said.

"Welcome party? Para kanino?" Nakakunot ang noo na tanong ni Khalil sa ina.

"From a friend of mine long long time ago. She left the island 10 years ago and migrated sa Europe. And now they are coming back here." Irinea said.

"Di ko sure kung naaalala nyo pero she's Yzabel Juarez and her family. Nakalaro nyo pa nung bata yung mga anak ng tita Yza nyo kasi kaedad lang ni Jerome yung panganay nya and kaedad mo naman Thiana yung bunso nila."

"Juarez? Kaano ano po nila Señor Raphael Juarez?" Masusing tanong ni Khalil.

"Well Raphael and Yza's husband, Sean Juarez are brothers." Paliwanag ni Irinea.

"Are you friends with them? Juarez are so scary as what I heard before. Di ko nga nakakausap yung anak ni Señor Raphael, what's her name again? Lizzy? Yeah. She's so scary. Para bang nang jajudge na sya kaya never ko nakasundo." Thiana pouted.
