*Prologue*

My name is Jade. I'm 17. I have long brown hair that cascades to my lower back, with brown eyes that change according to my mood. I was adopted due to my parents' lack of being able to care for me. I apparently have an older brother but I've never cared to find him. I'm the outgoing type, up for anything, typically known as an adrenaline junkie.

I curled my last strand of hair and took one last look in the mirror. I smiled at my look and left out of the bathroom. I went to my closet and grabbed a black lace halter top with matching shorts. grabbed my phone from the night stand.

I had recently been invited to attend Coachella with my friend. I make YouTube videos and stuff but I'm not that big.
I texted my friend who would be at Coachella as well.
I walked out of my room and drove to pick up my friend.

Chapter 1
---------------------------------
*at coachella*

I stepped back a few feet before I ran into another figure who says

"Watch where you're going."
"Rude, watch it Caniff."

I recognized him because I had watched vines before I came on this trip, I turned around only to hit into another figure, my brother.

I got my phone out and sent a text message to my friend again.

"I can't wait to do something scary with you."
"I can't wait either. Let's go to the beach at 2 and jump off a cliff into the ocean." I sent

Seconds later, he walked by me flashing a smile and a wink, which was hot enough to make a girl go weak in her knees.

I looked up to see Taylor standing in front of me.

"You look tense, dance babe."

He was right, I've only met my brother once and that was when I was forced to go to his high school graduation last year. I took one picture and ran out and got the next flight home.

I grabbed Taylor's hand and let him lead me to do whatever. I knew that people would see this and take pictures and it would be all over Twitter, but at in this moment, I couldn't care less.

The night went by quickly and 2 a.m was approaching quickly. I didn't want to leave.

Between my legs giving out and the heat taking over my body, I was ready to completely go to sleep, but I couldn't give up that easily. I walked away from Taylor to go find Maggie but I felt a hand grab my shoulder, looking up to see Jack.

"Jade, I see you're with Taylor? My best friend."
"I don't see why it matters."
"You're my little sister." He said
"No, I'm not your little sister. You never cared to text or call me to see how I was doing. You lived the perfect life, and trust me. All of my friends know who you are and they love you, but they don't know you're my brother. I know you lived the perfect life while I had to fear people not wanting to be my friend because I'm adopted. That hurts that I couldn't live with my actual parents and my actual family. But no, I live with a family who has to tell their other family members why I don't resemble either of them. If you cared about me 17 years ago, then I wouldn't have danced with Taylor." I snapped and walked away.

I left the exit gates and called my friend, asking where his car was. Shortly after, a black car pulled up and honked. I walked towards it and got in and he drove away.

I told him all about it and he said he would make forget everything, I trusted him.

We arrived at the beach and I left my phone in his car and he did the same. We climbed to the top of the cliff and laid for a while, watching the stars and just talking.

He stood up and grabbed my hand and instructed me to jump on the count of three, holding his hand.

One.

Two.

Three.

We jumped hand in hand, the thrill gets me every time. Seconds later, my body smacked against the water and I felt lukewarm water surround my body. I've never been happier to be with someone.

We raced to the shore and I obviously won. He grabbed me and kissed me.

Everything was perfect.
