I could faintly feel needles being shoved into my arms and a mask go over my mouth and nose. I fluttered my eyes open to see 2 female nurses trying to get me out of a deep sleep that I fell into.

One of them walked out and a male nurse walked in, which was the cue for the other female nurse to leave.

"How are you feeling, Jade? I'm your doctor, you can call me Ian."
"Better I guess. Still kind of in shock."
"I understand. We're gonna give you some meds and we should have you out of here by tomorrow."
"Sounds good. Thank you."

I heard a quiet knock and I looked up to see Nate.

"Hey lil mama."
"Hey Nate."
"I'm sorry this happened. I wish you would've left with me."
"I guess it was meant for me to be hit with a car and almost take my life." I laughed.
"What do you remember?"
"I don't know really, Jack and Jack kept calling me so I threw my phone and next thing I knew I felt glass all over me and I sat in shock and I couldn't move. I thought I was dying. But then I realized that I really almost died when nurses ran in and grabbed me and my eyes got heavy and all I could see was black."
"Wow. I'm so sorry Jade."
"It's not your fault."
"Well, is there anything I can do for you?"
"You can let me check my Twitter with your phone. They never gave me mine."

He stood up and pulled his phone out of his back pocket and handed it to me.

I scrolled through many mentions,
"Please tweet and let us know that you're okay!"
"Jade are you okay?"
"Jade!!"
"I wish you would have died."
"What happened?? Are you okay?"

I tweeted

"In the hospital. Literally almost died. Cars are dangerous. Love you all, don't worry about me. ❤️"

I gave Nate his phone back and we just talked about a variety of things.

Ian walked in and gave me some medicine and checked on my vitals.

"Do you happen to have my cell phone? Was it recovered from my vehicle?" I asked before Ian left

"Actually, it was recovered but it was completely broken." He said
"Okay. Thank you." I said, and he left.

"Hey Nate, are my parents still here?"
"Yes, they are here now out in the waiting room."
"Go get my mom, please." I requested.

A few minutes later my mom walked in

"Hey honey."
"Mom, can you go get a phone for me?"
"Yes'm. When do you want it?"
"Preferably today." I laughed.
"Tell Nate to come back in." I yelled before she left

Before I knew it, Nate was singing
"I don't even know your name" by Shawn Mendes and I thought it was so cute that he knew all of the words.

I began to sing along, and we were perfectly in sync.

Never did I think I would be sitting in a hospital bed after nearly dying singing together.

Nate pulled out his phone and recorded us on snapchat which I assumed he posted on his story

Nate stood up and walked out, out of nowhere.

I didn't even tell because I knew I would just hurt myself.

"Hey honey." my mom said while waving around a new iPhone.

"Thanks mom." I said as she handed it to me.

I began to download apps and log into everything.

Bing! I got a text from my friend.

"I don't think this is going to work out unless we tell Jack. We can't keep hiding it."
