Walking into second period, I hugged my body tight due to the cold air. Outside, the weather was starting to change and get fresher, as the month was approaching October.
I walked into the classroom and took my seat.
I spun my pencil on my desk around a few times and just before the bell rang and the teacher was about to close the door, Nick swooped in, placing his hand onto the door to stop it.
The teacher rose an eyebrow and Nick laughed a little, "Sorry, sir"
He nods his head at him, walking on into the classroom. I look back down at my pencil as he sits next to me.
"Morning, Elara" he says, sitting down.
"Good morning" I give him a quick smile.
The teacher gets started on the lesson, talking about English stuff and essays and writing.
Nick clears his throat, leaning in to me a little, he whispers, "Gum?"
I look at his hand, seeing he slid out a piece of gum from the pack he had.
I shake my head, "No thanks"
He nods, plopping a stick into his mouth for himself.
After a moment, he leans in again, "Is your hair different today?"
I look over at him, then glance at the little bit of hair that fell over my shoulder. It was the same curly self as it is usually, kept down.
"Rick, do you wear glasses at all?" I speak my thoughts.
He shakes his head, "I don't need any"
"And you're sure about that?"
He just smiles at me, I look back to the teacher up front when he doesn't answer.
He clears his throat, "Hey, whats the date?"
I sigh, "October 8"
He scribbles on a paper.
"And which period is this-
"Mr. Samuels!" The teacher shouts suddenly. "First you come late, and now you're chattering during my class while I'm speaking?"
