Rena tried hard not to fall into the 'perfect princess' type from the Other World. Her parents, King Sylvan and Queen Saskia, protected the land of Tierra from the first war.
Of course, Rena wasn't born at the time of that war. That was thousands of years ago and Rena was only 114.
Rena tried hard to be like her parents so she could protect her homeland from any future danger.
But she knew there wouldn't be any danger in her life time. Not with the wizards still around and her parents. But how could she prove herself to her fellow Tierrians that she could rule like her parents?
A annoyed neigh snapped her out of her thoughts. "Sorry Raska. Lost in thought again." She apologized to the brown unicorn.
"Rena dear, when grooming a unicorn you can not loose yourself in thought. Now be a dear and re-do your work that you messed up on." Raska said.
Rena let out a sigh and began to re-do all her work. Unicorns were strange creatures who loved how they look so they could boast. Rena heard a pegasus snorting from another stall in the stables. She could help but to smile. "Dakath, you silly pegasus, you are only jealous of my beautiful coat that you could never get." Raska shot at the black pegasus.
"At lest I can fly and go where I please while you have to stay here," Dakath shot back.
"You over grown chicken." Raska muttered.
Rena couldn't hold in her laugh, "You two sound like an old married couple with all these really bad insults."
"Rena...you can go now since you can't take this seriously." Raska said with an annoyed tone.
Rena dropped the brush and stepped out of the stall, "Good luck grooming yourself then." She walked out of the stables while Raska yelled at Dakath and blaming him for her lack of grooming. She continued to leave, not looking back. This was her teaching herself tough love. Though it was hard for her, she continued to walk away.
Her parents didn't believe in having servants so she and her parents did the work to keep their castle clean. They wouldn't have had the castle if the Tierrians didn't build it for her parents to honour what they did from the land.
Rena made her way to the courtyard to care for the garden as one of her daily chores. She got the watering pail and went to the well. After filling the pail she went to the garden.
First she started with pulling out the weeds. She heard a soft sneeze from the flower bush. "Sensiil, I know you are in there. You always in there. It's not a surprise any more."
The little red dragon came out of the flower bush and put his front talons on her lap, "Hi-ya Rena. What-cha doing?"
"Same thing as always. Pulling weeds, watering the flowers, dealing with self centred unicorns." Rena said with a smile.
"Sounds boring," Sensiil muttered, flopping over onto his side and letting Rena pull out the weeds.
"Nothing different then any other day," She sighed.
"Bo-oo-oring." Sensiil sang.
Rena shook her head and smiled. Sensiil was her best friend since they were both young. It helped to have a friend who could live as long as she would. Never had to worry about out living him. That's why they got along so well.
Sensiil lived with the other dragons in the Fire Forest. It was called 'Fire Forest' because of the dragons. There was no contention between the Terrians and the dragons thanks to her parents of course.
But it would be useful for when, or if, a war came upon the land again. Which was doubtful since they had no enemies. Not for thousands of years. Sure a few issues in the villages or in the city, but nothing too serious.
"Rena? You okay?" Sensiil snapped her out of her thoughts.
"Uh? Oh. Sorry Sensiil. Just day dreaming again," Rena apologized, "I can't focus at all any more. Like something is going to happen. I don't know. It's probably nothing."
Sensiil nodded, "And you haven't confessed to Sun yet?"
"Oh stars Sensiil! It's nothing to concern Sun with. They don't want a girl complaining about her daydreams to them." Rena stood up and picked up her pail and started to water the garden.
"Just asking." The little dragon said.
"It's fine," She sighed as she finished and started to head to the castle. Sensiil scurried after her, "It's just a day dream any ways. Nothing to worry about."
A/N-I am going to try to make chapters longer and such. I hope you guys are like this chapter and will enjoy the rest of the story.
