George POVWe have been siting at this table for what seems like forever, but it has only been a couple of hours. I feel my eyes getting harder to keep open by the second.
This Sapnap guy is extremely annoying, but he certainly is not someone I would mess with. He has been playing darts with knives for the majority of the meeting and basically getting everything on target while not even trying.
Dream on the other hand has been talking nonstop about this case, making sure I have all the information possible and demanding me to write notes so I don't forget. This guy treats me like an amateur and it would bother me more if I wasn't so tired and just wanting this stupid meeting to come to an end. Also, he's had his helmet on this entire time and I haven't commented on him taking in off because I know better, I've done my research on this guy and he handles his business with it on but regardless, I find it quite strange since he evidently can't wear it during trial.
It seems like my wishes have been answered.
"Alright I guess you can go now" he mumbles.
I perk up, "sounds good, I'll keep in touch" I reach out to shake his hand.
"I'll walk you out" he gets up at the same time as me.
"See ya lawyer!" Sapnap screams after me.
"The names George"
"Didn't ask"
I roll my eyes.
We walk back upstairs into the darkness and it hasn't gotten any less creepy. I would say it's even more now since it's dark outside as well.
"Be careful out there, the roads down here have no lights" he warns me.
"I've dealt with scarier things than driving in the dark, but thanks for your concern" I reply sarcastically.
I go to walk out but I feel a hand slither around my wrist, pulling me back, "what's with you? We are supposed to be on the same team here so I don't get why you have been so on edge all meeting"
I go to shake his hold and he lets go, "because you've been treating me like I don't know what I'm doing and I hate when you type of criminals get in the way of my job by trying to tell me what to do. Just let me do my thing, this isn't my first rodeo"
"Yeah but I know damn well it will be your most important one since-"
"Since you're the leader of the most dangerous gang ya ya you don't need to keep reminding me" I cut him off mid sentence. All night that's what he's been using to keep me in check. And I get it, he has definitely been my most dangerous case, but nonetheless I have been doing this for almost a year now.
"Don't cut me off lawyer"
"Don't tell me what to do gangster" I bite back raising my eyebrow.
He scoffs, "and people told me you were the quiet type"
It takes me back, I usually am always more composed than this with my clients, I huff, "look I am but I usually take a week off before jumping back into a new case" I explain.
"So what's so special about me?" He cocks his head to the side. I wish he would take that damn helmet off so I could see his facial expressions.
"Your money" I reply and turn to open the door, waving my hand goodbye as I walk out to my car.
I take a minute to myself as my car heats up, its a cool night tonight and I wish I had brought a blazer to wear over top my outfit.
In the meeting he had given me a run down about what had happened that night. He told me that him and his men were outside of this bar downtown that he owns taking a smoke. They were talking about god knows what and another gang ran up on them taking them by surprise. Dream had his gun on him and pulled it out, trying to get them to back away since he did not want to be doing this near his bar, but that didn't stop them from trying to shoot one of his men. The shot went off, hitting someone named Sam in the leg and he had "no choice" but to fire back. A few more shots went off and since they were in the middle of downtown, their were cops nearby, on the scene almost immediately.
