Ever since the beginning of civilization on Earth, it seemed that humans had always looked towards the stars and wondered if it were truly alone. If others are out there. Intelligent or not, many believed that surely humans couldn't be the only sentient beings in the Universe. After all, the Universe was a big place, so it only seemed logical.

Years past, and Humanity's dream of meeting extraterrestrials never died. Even as technology improved, and countless nearby star systems and planets had already been monitored and observed by Scientists from Earth, whether it was with powerful telescopes, or with satellites, humans found nothing. Nothing but the empty vacuum of space.

Despite the lack of evidence, and speculation that life beyond the stars didn't exit, hope was never lost, as Humanity waited for the day that something or someone, might receive. Many people of course weren't supportive of this, as some were convinced that if Humanity did make contact with aliens, it would spell doom for the Human race. Just like in countless Sci-fi movies, with the aliens invading and overthrowing or even wiping out society. Regardless of this, people still looked to the stars and couldn't help but wonder...

It was in 2032, however, that everything changed.

It had started with a muffled frequency, before several static like noises, as space observatories all across the world detected strange radio signals, coming from deep space. Immediately, scientists began observing and replaying the received frequencies, over and over, trying to determine the source, and if it was artificial.

It was then, that many long-ranged satellites, in orbit, and on the surface, detected an object moving at unbelievably fast speeds, on direct course towards Earth.

It was only once the object got closer, and breached Earth's outer orbit, did Scientists manage to get a closer look at it, only to be met with an incredible sight.

Exhilarated, many scientific corporations across the planet such as NASA immediately began attempting to make contact with the unidentified Spacecraft, all the while World Leaders across countries globally began making immediate meetings with one another to discuss the situation. Many countries were reluctant to make contact and proposed to launch weapons at the craft to eliminate any possible threat, while many other countries argued that they needed to make contact first. After all, nobody sure if what was clearly alien, was hostile or not.

Luckily, nobody had to decide, as the aliens decided for them.

It was quick, and without warning, but after being Earth's orbit for at least a week, the craft began giving strange heat and energy signatures. During the week, the world had kept a close eye on the spacecraft. Observing it's every detail as scientists tried to make sense of what they were looking at. Meanwhile militaries across the globe had also mobilized, on the off chance that the ship gave any signs of being hostile.

By the time humanity realized what was going on, the ship struck out at major cities, on the regions that were unfortunate enough to be below it. The first strike killed millions of people instantly, as cities were vaporized and burnt into nothing.
