Kat went inside Revelyn's room at 8:30 a.m. to wake her up.

When she entered the guest room, she saw her snoring in her sleep. She went closer to the bed, and saw Revelyn's lips puckered into a pout, her hair over her eyes. Kat gently moved away her hair to look at her full face. Her cheeks were stained due to tears once again.

Kat remembered what happened in the car last night and blushed deeply, when her eyes travelled to her lips. Revelyn had confessed that she liked Kat. Kat did have a crush on Revelyn, so maybe she liked her back too.

"Hey," Kat whispered, caressing Revelyn's hands.
"It's time to wake up~"

Revelyn moved a bit, and her eyes opened quickly. She saw Kat sitting by the bedside, smiling at her. Revelyn smiled with her eyes half opened and pulled Kat with her on the bed and hugged her from behind, Kat's body fitting perfectly and getting trapped with Revelyn's.

"WoaoOa-"

Revelyn kissed Kat's forehead.

"Stay here for sometime, please.." Revelyn said in a sleepy voice.

"But we need to leav-"

"It's Wednesday today, the café is closed.."

"Oh, yeah I forgot about that, haha-"

Kat stopped when she noticed Revelyn fell asleep again. She tried to get up from the bed but Revelyn held her close, gripping her by the waist tightly. She eventually relaxed into the hug, thanking her lucky stars for the place she was in right now.

This was the best place Kat could be in, right in Revelyn's arms, for the rest of her life.

"I don't want to see you anymore. I'm sorry."
"But Caroline, I gave up everything for you! Please don't leave me like this.."

"I'm sorry, I've hurt Revelyn really badly and I regret each minute I've spent with you. It's my fault too..."

"..you-you regret the time we.. spent together..?" Deven asked, finally breaking into tears.

"Yes, I do. I have never loved you the way you have. I've told you that a million times. I was with you only for the sex and you knew that. Don't act like I've broken your heart or something and besides, my relationship with Revelyn is much more significant than ours. Get that in your head."

Deven was at a loss of words. He couldn't comprehend what he was hearing. He couldn't hear words, he could hear mere noises coming out of his phone. The sudden beep of the call declining woke him up to the bitter reality.

He had no one now. He left his parents to get together with Kat. Then, he left Revelyn because he fell in love with Caroline.

He was used to leaving a person for someone else, not another person leaving him for someone else.

He contemplated reality. He wished it was all just a cruel nightmare.

~

He took out his cell phone and texted Revelyn, for the last time.

Hey Revelyn. Look, I don't want you to get back with me. I mean, that would be great but the reason I'm contacting you is that, I wanted to apologise for what I did. I feel pathetic about myself. You deserve better. I left my parents for you, and then I left you for someone else. I guess it's just my thing. Leaving people when I get bored. Don't you think you deserve better?

~

Revelyn and Kat arrived at the café at 6:00 a.m.

Suzzane had asked them to clean up because a special customer was going to come that day.

Kat inserted the key into the keyhole and turned it.

"Hey Kat? Do you smell this?"
"Now that you mention it, yes. I've been smelling something really disgusting since the last two minutes..."

"A rat must have died or something."

Kat opened the café and turned on the light switches. Then, she heard a horrified shriek coming from behind her. She saw Revelyn's gaze on the ground and looked down.

"CALL 911," shrieked Kat panicking.
People from around the place started coming out of their homes, to see what the commotion was about.

Kat immediately closed the door of the café while Revelyn was talking to 911.
"....god damnit..."

~

The café was surrounded by police officers while Scott, Zoe, Suzzane, Kat and Revelyn were in pure shock. Karina and Dilam reached the scene. Revelyn was clinging onto Kat, crying her eyes out.

Suddenly, a car arrived at the place.

Caroline burst out of the car.

"Oh my goodness.." her voice died down when she saw Deven's lifeless body on the floor of the café. The police hadn't removed the body from its place, as they were still investigating the scene. Soon, the body was taken away for autopsy. People assumed it was a suicide since there was a knife near Deven's hand. He had no potential enemy, and he had been mentally disturbed due to the break up too.

The officers found a piece of paper kept on the counter table, which has Deven's handwriting on it.

'I love you Revelyn. I felt pathetic about what I did to you, and decided that living isn't worth it anymore, since you're not with me.'
Revelyn was traumatized. She regretted breaking up with him. She wished she could've just forgiven him.

~

Revelyn was lying down in the guest room, with her eyes wide open. Staring at the ceiling, the days spent waking up and falling asleep next to her ex replayed in her mind like a broken record.

Months had passed by, but the pain couldn't stop.

Kat had asked her to go for therapy at least 20 times now, but she couldn't bring herself to go for it. She always believed she deserved the suffering, even though she knew at the end of the day, it wasn't her fault. It wasn't her fault that Deven cheated on her and then killed himself. Her mind was reminding her constantly that the reason behind why he killed himself was guilt. And that guilt was because of Revelyn herself.

She got up and proceeded to Kat's room, in hopes of finding comfort and consolation. Because, that always worked. She could be at the worst point of her life, but Kat would make her feel loved and at the top of the world in no time. In the midst of the harsh winter that is life, Kat was her brightest sunny day.
