Pandora.A planet filled with mystery, and it's secrets only known to the Na'vi, or they were until humans invaded the planet tried to colonize our home for what our Ole'eyktan called Unobtanium. They'd destroyed my parents home in hopes of obtaining this unobtanium, so that they could rip it from the earth by any means necessary, despite the pain it caused my people and our Great Mother, Eywa.
Despite their efforts, their precious metal was unobtainable. Our leader, Toruk Makto, waged war against his own kind and prevailed with the help of the Omatikaya clans and the Great Mother. Beast and warrior alike fought against the human scourge and sent them back to their dying planet, Earth.
The legends of Jake Sully, we're told around every fire. My own parents fought along side him in the war against the humans, and they sang their songs, each bead on their song cords a different memory from the battle. How our people recovered after such a bloody war against demons who rained fire down upon them from the sky.
I was born the same night our Ole'eyktan's first son was born, Neteyam. The Tsaìk said that it was a sign from Eywa that we were destined to be mated.
It was a great honor bestowed on my family, to be chosen to be mated to the next leader of our clan. Things were easier when we were younger. Neteyam and me played together and were able to be children, but when the humans came back to our planet, causing as much destruction as they did when they first landed here, our days of being care free children were over.
"Äeya!"
Breaking me out of yet another day dream, my mother called to me from below. I had been laying on one of the many rocks that floated in the sky with Seraph, my beautiful Ikran. His skin was a shade of purple so dark that when we flew together in the night sky, you could not see us until we wanted you to see us, and unfortunately for the humans that was when my arrows buried in their chests and Seraph had his fangs and talons were buried in their necks and flying machines.
"Äeya, you can not hide up there all day with your Ikran. You must get ready for the mission."
Another mission I had no business going on, according to my brothers. I would be inclined to agree with them, but not because they thought I shouldn't be putting myself in danger. No, I shouldn't be going because Neteyam would be there as well.
Ever since the humans invaded our planet again, he's been distant and cold. I don't expect him to pay me any special attention because I am his betrothed, but ignoring me all together isn't exact what I had thought would happen when our world had began to fall apart. I was young and ignorant and thought that it would bring us closer together and our bond would strengthen, that we would be a force to be reckoned with and the humans would cower before us on the battlefields they had created.
I was older now, having passed my rites of passage right along side him, and despite our inevitable mating I knew now that there were more important things in this life than waiting for our prince to acknowledge my existence like the love sick child I was when we were younger.
There was no room for love in war, and I was currently running late for one. Slinging my bow across my back, I climbed onto Seraph and connected my braid to his own neural tendrils activating our tsaheylu. Connecting to Seraph was always a rush, I could feel his strength as if it were my own. When I went to tame him, he nearly killed me. The others in my group, including Neteyam, thought I was crazy for choosing him. He was no Toruk, but he was just as ferocious and I knew he was mine the moment he attacked me.
He had nearly killed me before I created the Tsaheylu, but he was mine and Eywa couldn't have made him any more perfect for me if she could.
"I'm ready." I called down to my mother, "I will see you when I return."
