A Slytherin Friend

The great hall was so silent, you could hear a pin drop.

I looked up at the Professor. McGonagall who had a bewildered expression plastered on her face.

"Well, off you go Mrs. Weasley, she said as though she was unsure of what she was saying. "

I quickly stole a glance at the Gryffindor table, Fred and Goerge looked relatively unphased whilst Percy was staring at me intensely as if trying to decide whether or not he should hate me. What really tore me was the look on Ron's face, it was as if I was a stranger who had somehow inhabited the body of his sister. I thought back to what he had said on the train.

"Slytherin is for the spoiled Assholes of the bunch. "

"There isn't a single wizard who's gone bad that wasn't from slytherin. "

Did he mean it? I wasn't sure...

Hesitantly I walked towards the Slytherin table as McGonagall called the next time. From the corner of my eye, I could see Malfoy loudly arguing with who I assumed was the prefect, that a Weasley shouldn't be allowed in a Slytherin house. My stomach churned, what the hell was I going to tell my parents?

It was a little after dinner and I had decided to accept the fact that I was a Slytherin and embrace it. I was sharing a room with three other girls: Daphne Greengrass, Pansy Parkinson and Selena Aetos.

"Hey, I'm Selena ", a girl said, extending her arm "

"Aria ", I said taking it

Suddenly she burst into a mad fit of giggles "I can't stop thinking about the look on Malfoy and Riddle's faces when you talked back to them "

I started laughing too "I regret nothing, did you see the kid who fell off the boat "

With that, the laughing grew harder. "His name is Gregory Goyle ", she told me in between laughter, "one of Malfoy's minions ".

"Well, I can't blame Malfoy, he's too stupid to do anything by himself "

Selena was on the floor now, dying. The two other girls in our room were glaring at us with disgusted faces now but we could hardly care.

Soon enough I plopped down on the floor with her, the laughter slowly killing us.

Perhaps Slytherin wouldn't be too bad

Author's note: I know this chapter was really short and I was considering adding the next one onto it but decided against it . The next chapter however, will be all about the first classes and will most likely be very long. Thank you to anyone who's reading this I would love some constructive criticism.
