Chapter 1; What happened?..

The girl woke up in her hiding spot on her grandparents farm as usual, she hang out there a lot, she just liked alone time, she thought it's unusually quiet, usually there is kids yelling, dogs, cats, horses, cows and so on, but now it was way too quiet. The kid climbed down from the attic in the barn, she saw the horses weren't here, or at least she though, she got closer to see dead horses laying down, they were torn apart, their organs were seen. The girl was disgusted by that and ran to the house, she saw the doors and windows were broken, the door had blood on it, the girl started shaking, imagining everything that could have happened to her parents and grandparents. She ran inside, she wanted to scream for her parents, maybe they would hear her, maybe someone would come, but she was too scared, maybe there is still someone. She ran to the kitchen and grabbed the biggest knife she found and slowly explored the house, she found her grandpa's body first, torn apart as well. She didn't dare to make a sound though, she continued slowly sneaking around the house, she was not afraid to stab anyone who approaches her. She saw her mother phone and took it, she tried calling the police but there was no signal, she had to do this alone. The bouse tuned out to be empty other than he grandpa.. The girl continued being quiet and sneaking, she got to her room and locked the door, she wanted to pull the curtains, she looked outside the window before that, and she saw her mother turned with her back to the house. She wanted to go hug her, the girl was so happy to see her mother, but her mother was acting weird, as soon as the mother turned around, the girl gasped and pulled the curtains and sat down hiding, the girl was gasping for air, her mothers neck was open and half of her head torn. Soon there was banging on the doors, the girl froze, she didn't dare to move, then she saw a gun, her dad left her a gun hidden in her closet, for any kind of emergency. She took the gun not knowing if she could even aim at whoever is there, her hands were too shaky. She stood with her back to the door and then unlocked it, ready ti shoot whoever was there. The door opened at the girl stood behind the door hiding when she felt the person was inside she shut the door and aimed at the person who appeared to be her older brother, he looked alright but the girl didn't believe, he ran towards her to hug her but the girl aimed the gun at her older brother Hunter,

The boy kept quiet. The girl locked the door again, then asked Hunter what happened with everyone.

"I have no idea, everyone went crazy and started to torn each other apart and their selves after nobody else was left.."

"And before that? There must be a reason right?" Asked the girl

"We were just eating strawberries, if those weren't grown on our farm i would think it was because there was something in them.."

"Maybe there is, we gotta get some a d check it up, maybe there was something in them.."

"We have to escape from here! We can't do that now, it's too dangerous, everyone got sick from each other, and they are killing everything." Said the girl

"No, we have to find a way to help them! We can't just leave them like that! They are our family!" Said Hunter

"I don't care, even if we found a cure, did you see them!? They are torn apart, half of their organs are outside their bodies!"

"But we can try at least!"

"If you want to die too, then go! I don't need you anymore, go risk your life for something you can't do!"

"Fine, but if i success, don't ever think of coming back home!" Hunter said with tears in his eyes..

The girl looked at him and ran downstairs with a big bag already with some clothes in it, she started packing some food and water, she needed to get to the town to get some help. She was all packed up, she was about to ran out and get away from here, but she looked to her right when she was before the door, her dads jacket.. She took the jacket and ran away, she was running and running and running..

The evening came and she stopped in the middle of nowhere, there was an small shop, it was open, but there was nobody, she closed the door and blocked it just in case, she wanted to make sure nothing will get inside druing the night, she sat down and put on her dad's jacket, looked at her hands and then started crying, she was still only a teen, she wasn't ready for this kind of stuff, she took some snacks and ate there, she found some instant noodles and boiled some water in the microwave the shop had, she had luck this night, after eating she went to sleep, the night was cold but not that cold to freeze yet.

The girl woke up in the morning and ate some other food she found and took some more with her, just in case..
She unblocked the door and then continued following the road hoping for a city to be close. Another day passed and nothing interesting happened, she just walked and walked through a dessert like place, this night she had enough energy, she ate and continued walking, she didn't have a shelter anyways, so there was no point in stopping and sleeping on the open. While walking she found a car piece close to the road, she lighten up the road with her flashlight to see 3 cars had an car accident, there was nobody in thee cars though, she got closer to look for anything at all when she felt something behind her, she reached for the pocket where her gun was, then turned around and aimed the gun towards a torn human, she shoot him few times and the person still continued walking as if nothing happened. The girl jumped over the car and leaned on the next car that was behind her where another zombie like person was inside, the person got the girls hand but she managed to get him off really fast. She looked at the zombies and noticed, every of them hhas a torn neck, she shoot one of them in the neck and his head fell of, he died. She realized that if she could shoot them in the neck everytime she would get rid of them easily. She shoot the other 3 zombies she saw and their heads fell off as well. The girl was shaking but not as much as before. She stood with her gun aimed at the zombies, she had to make sure they are dead for sure. Then she ran towards the town as fast as possible, she just wanted to get away from that place. The morning came and she was close by a town, she could see it in the distance. She ran, she was so happy to see a town, but as she got closer something was off about it, it was quiet, usually when around towns there is cars and people heard, she hesitated to enter it. She checked her guns to make sure she has aim, and prepared her knife, just in case. She went into the town and it was empty, at first, zombies started to come out of nowhere, a lot of them, there was no person that wasn't a zombie, at least she didn't see a single one, she ran, there was too much of them for her. She decided to hide in a school, that was the best she could do right now. She went into a class on the second floor, that was the safest, she blocked the door and sat down under the teacher desk. She curled up scared, she had no idea where to go next, what other place could possibly have survivors in it. The time passed by, she started thinking something out,

"My parents and grandparents got sick after eating strawberries... I'm pretty sure not the whole town ate the same strawberries as us.. it must be something else.. maybe air? -no, if it was air i would be an zombie too by now.. hmm... [Remembered the fruits from that small store] they had some green dots over them... Maybe it's not just our farm that got poisoned... But who and how..." She kept thinking, she looked at the window it was dark outside, then a dark figure with a human like shape appeared, a shadow.. the girl got scared and looked away quickly, then looked back, but it disappeared...
She looked at her hands, then she noticed a small scratch she haven't even noticed, it had something green in it, she started cleaning her wound when she remembered: "[the moment when the zombie took her hand] the person must of have made this scratch with his nails.. fuck.."
