Chapter 2; New Friend

The girl woke up in the morning with sunlight falling onto her beautiful green eyes, she got up and looked outside the window, there was nobody at the moment, she had luck. She explored the school and blocked all the entrances and windows that the zombies could come through into the building. She got some mattresses from the gym and used it for a bed in the classroom she was in last night. She had a blanket and some clothes she organized onto the tables and a drawer that was there, she made the classroom look like some room. But she was running out of food and needed new clothes, so she left everything there except the gun, a knife and an empty bag that she will put stuff in and then went to the shop.

The shop had shattered glass around the entrance from all the glass zombies broke, but she did found what she needed, some blankets, clothes and a bigger bag. She took the both bags, and headed to another shop, she still didn't find food or any weapons that she could use. She went to a grocery store firstly, and found some food in cans, that could be in use, some soup, beans, tunas and such. She also found a small portable cooker, it will be in use, to warm up some food, or maybe fry eggs or something like that. She took some bread, milk, salt, flour and eggs too, it will be in use for sure.

Days passed, she didn't do much, she was inside the school all day, going out rarely, only when she runs out of food or needs anything new. She did have electricity and internet so she wasn't really bored, she tried making posts, hoping for anyone alive to see it and reply, but nothing really happened. She did have fun at first, she got everything she wanted, new phone, headphones, even a VR headset, games, consoles, and anything else she wanted, she could just go to a shop and get it. It was great for few months, she had food and all those cool stuff, but slowly got bored, no human communication can really drive people crazy, she started seeing thay shadow very often, in mirrors, windows, basically anything that had some kind if reflection, it would drive her crazy. She started having hard time falling asleep and would tear up often. Soon the food started running out too, the town didn't have that much food yet, so she had to go to other towns after a while. She had more things now though, more clothes and more blankets and such. She packed her things in few bags, one was big, and two smaller bags. She found a map and made a plan of what towns she could go to, compared them all and choose the best place. The town she choose was really big, but not in her country, besides, maybe other countries are still alive, she can't know unless she goes there to see it. She knew how to ride a car even tho she was only 14, her dad thought her how to drive it, so she found a car, that was big enough for her to put her stuff inside and since she will spend a while there, she took the back seats out and went to a furniture shop where she got a mattress to put there so she could sleep at night. It looked like a bed, she hot few pillows, plushies and blankets. She got two portable energy storages as well, just in case that she needs it, it might be useful to charge her phone. That's still going to be a long way till the other countries, and after all, if nobody is alive, she could at least explore the world a bit, there is still plenty stuff she could see and learn about. After she was done packing she got the car, and went to a gas station, go some gas for the car, she filled the car and got some big bottle she found where she put more gas to have with her. Then she started driving, she played music and had fun driving, after the day ended she stopped somewhere in the desert like place, there wasn't much to see. After eating she stared at the stars, she remembered all the stories about stars that her dad used to tell her.

The night passed by and the girl continued with her trip, she passed by a small town, it wasn't really popular or known for anything, nobody even knew about it. What cought the girls eye the most is that there was nobody, neither dead or alive, it was empty, same for the last town, there was barely anyone, even blood was rarely seen, the only blood she saw druing all of this was when she saw her relatives, when she saw the car accident and the dead horses. There wasn't any animals either, just her all alone, that made the girl sad, there was nothing at all left...

Another evening came soon, she made a stop, she was close by some farm, she thought she could explore it tomorrow, but for now, she just locked the doors, ate, and then went to sleep. In the morning she was awaken by someone or something scratching the car from the outside. The girl felt a bit uneasy, shee took her gun and got outside of the car from the opposite side from where the sounds are. She slowly went around the car, ready to shoot, she then saw a small puppy, the dog was not injured, the girl felt relief when she saw just a small lost dog, it was probably just scared. She took the puppy in her hands and then left it in the car, she wanted to explore the farm still though she did find what she was looking for.

She got to the farm that wasn't so close to the road and slowly went inside it, no blood or any bodies, just a normal house, nothing was even shattered. The girl thought its weird, how come there is nobody, but they aren't killed, because if they were, there would be at least blood if not bodies, right? She wondered around but there was nobody there, again, not even animals, only the puppy was there. The girl didn't find anything interesting there other than food, so she took the food and went back to her car. The puppy was waiting for the girl, the girl let the dog get out of the car and feed it, it turned out to be a male puppy, german shepherd. The girl liked puppy and kept it without thinking, she took him back into the car and continued the trip to the town. She talked to the dog the whole time, even though the dog couldn't understand her.

When the evening came she stopped somewhere around a valley where cows used to be few months ago, the time goes too fast. The girl let the dog out and when it came back they laid down in the car and the girl kept talking to the dog..

"You are such a young puppy, without a family, just like me... You are lucky i found you..

What should your name be?..
Max? No..
Maybe Rocky? Do you like that?"

The dog started wagging his tail happily.

"Okay then, Rocky it is!"

And then the girl fell asleep with the dog in her arms.
