{Cassidy Pov}
"Yo, Cole! We here." There was a knock on the door.
I make my way to the door, seeing Winston and Lucio there, as Solider 76 said.
"What's going on over there." Is the first thing I ask them, we start walking away from the base, we walk on a dimly lit path with only lucio's equipment to light the way.
"Yall remember when you and Genji took down that... demon right?" Lucio asked.
"We think... maybe, he's not dead, although, we are not sure, it is only speculation." Winston chimes in.
My heart dropped when hearing that. "That can't be true. Genji Chopped his head off. I have his skull."
I could feel him shaking on my back, i' not sure if it was out of fear, out of sadness... maybe a mixture of both, although, he's trying his best to stop shaking, otherwise he might be caught.
"It's speculation, so, I might be completely wrong, but what makes me think that is the rising of demons around, there's been tons tonight, and the account's of the villagers nearby have been seeing a huge figure looming around their town." Winston explains, "They hear almost a sorrowful voice, calling out someone but the words are hard to hear."
All of this makes me more nervous, maybe I'm overthinking the last encounter I had with the 'Demon king' maybe his death was too easy... No.
"All the proof I need is that skull."
"Well I consider that too, so, maybe it's... a different one, or possibly someone just trying to scare the people."
"And look over here," Lucio effortlessly glides to a tree with huge claw marks. "We saw this too, Genji said he hasn't seen them yesterday when he went on a mission with Solider and you."
I walk up to the tree and run my fingers in the marks, they were much bigger than them I'll tell you that.
"I don't understand how he could survive my bullets, that are infused with them spider lillies, and then there's Genji, with his sword too."
"That's another thing, but, It is one of the 2 things I can think of for the reason of the rise in the demon population... there was just two more yesterday." Winston states.
The deeper we walk into the forest, the more demon bodies we seen slain. Heads cut off. Bullets sprayed on them, and others who's clearly suffered with Reinhardt's hammer... crushed. Their faces laid still, ugly, they were laid out in the open so the sun could take them in the morning.
There were innocent town's folk too, their heads were hanging off their neck, a few half eaten... They don't even spare the children, those monsters. It's not so bad to me now. I had to witness this stuff when the demon outbreak was in Texas. They almost took my life too...
There was a sweet stench of spider lilies, from the bullets. I can tell Hanzo hated it, he was rubbing his noses on my back to hopefully ease the irritation.
I cursed under my breath in amazement on how many they killed tonight. I used to enjoy thinking killing demons for sport was fun, it was kind of ruined when I met Hanzo, Its the same effect when you see those animals getting killed for their meet, you sorta feel bad for eating meat for a few days.
There was a dim light ahead of us, we reach the town of Kamoenai. A small fishing town with a population with a little over a thousand... that is most terrorized by tons of demons nightly, it feels empty now, with an exception of a few people closing up their shops. Its always lit up. If I didn't mention the fact that this town in being terrorized by demons, this place would feel extremely safe.
Although some nights, the towns folk goes on patrols to help us out... not tonight though.
"You think we should split up..." Lucio asks, Winston nods.
"When a demon attacks, holler."
"Gottcha big guy." I give a thumbs up to winston.
"We should meet back here within an hour to check up on each other." Lucio chimes in.
"Okay an hour it is."
"Stay safe guys." Lucio cautions.
And with that I was alone. Once again, This town was kind of small, It should be easy.
I whisper to Hanzo, "This might take a while so just hang on partner."
{Pov switch: Hanzo}
Maybe I should have told him I got off him...
I was hiding in a small alley, this is where a hidden shrine is in worshiping the kami such as Amaterasu, the sun goddess and her sibling Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto, the moon goddess, there are other Kami included in the shrine as well... When me and Genji were children we used to hang around over here, maybe the aura of the shrine itself and a tranquil feeling to it. Now I try and be respectful and stand a few feet away from it, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be near to it... because of... my circumstances.
With transforming into dragons, I can turn take form of a human, why I never do this is because of the extremely painful process... My horns do not just go away but they retract, slowly and painfully, same thing with my tusks. My eyes don't change too much, instead of the glow-y white eyes, I gain a light grey eyes. Worst part is, even the smallest cut, I have a major risk in turning back into a demon for everyone to see.
Genji can do the same... although he got his horns removed, If he turned into a human, got hurt, then turned back his horns would grow back. He says its a painful process to get them off.
But I'm willing to take that risk, I really like spending a lot of time with him. I really want to help him out with his mission. I can use weapons, my father learned the arrow from Hattori, then taught me, I can be useful.
I use my nail to slash my arm, I use it to make a quiver to hold arrows in, it is a red color but soon turns into a tan brown coloration. With the rest of the blood dripping I make it into a bow, same with the quiver which holds the arrows, It first turns into a red coloration, then turning into a blue color.
Lastly, I rub where I slashed, to regenerate quicker. And it did.
If any of these break, they will turn back into blood, which I'm hoping it wouldn't...
Lastly, the worst part. Appearing as human, I put my nagagi on properly, so it wouldn't reveal part of my chest anymore. I got on my knees, putting my hands on my lap and focused. This was crucial to turning back. I was not sure if I was missing anything, I have not turned into a human in... years, I saw my father do it once, I wanted to be like him... he taught me and I regretted it
The transformation started, I felt sharp pain on my head where my horns were. I tried thinking of other things to get my mind off the pain... Cassidy...
...another sharp pain...
...then cassidy again....
'I wonder if I can get a new hakama.'
Then cassidy again.
He... I liked him a lot.
It eased the pain a little, Not as bad as I remembered it. When father did it It looked painless for him. I felt my head and my horns were already almost fully gone.
Then came the tusks.
Other things about him came to mind...
is deep, american accent.
His dark, shiny hair.
His eyes.
My thoughts were cut off. I covered my face "What am I thinking.." I groan, My face felt hot, but something was missing... My tusks. I didn't feel them. I look at my hands, they looked like a person's, it wasn't the greyish-green, it was more like... pale, Like a human's.
I'm so embarrassing to think of a human in this way. I got up, and walked out of the alley with my quiver and bow.
Cassidy should not be far from here.
