Rain watched as Phayu was practically dragged away by his friend, but before he could do anything about it Sky got in his way.
'What the hell happened,' he wondered as he eyed his best friend.
Sadness filled his eyes as he shook his head, but stopped as Rain grabbed his hand. He could tell his friend needed something, and the only thing he could think of was a hug. Before the taller man could move back he pulled him into his warmth.
He rubbed his hands up and down his back, and let the other man feel him there. He ignored the silent tears that soaked into the neck of his shirt, and kept massaging his hands on his back. As Sky's tears subsided they heard the distinct rumble of Phayu's bike, and listened as it faded into the night.
"You want to sit down on the couch?" he asked softly.
Hands tightened around him, and he felt Sky shake his head.
With a light laugh he tried to pull back, but firm arms tightened around him. Sky wasn't a big fan of being clingy, but there were times he was downright adorable.
"Ai' Sky....we need to sit down or either fall down," He said softly in a sweet tone.
The two of them shuffled back towards the couch never separating, and then the two of them fell backwards onto the cushions. Rain struggled to right the two of them, and sit up but still Sky clung to him.
It was then that he realized this must be more serious than he thought. Sky could be adorable, but this level of clingy he definitely wasn't. He'd only done this once before...when his mother had died.
" Is it that bad?" he asked the question out loud as he made designs in the t-shirt on his back.
There was only silence, and then he felt Sky pull back until he sat upright his face cast downwards. He waited patiently, and just when he thought Sky had changed his mind he spoke.
"P'Pai and I are dating," the tentative voice of his best friend spoke.
He was shocked by the words. Honestly he didn't know what could have caused the situation before, but it was an understatement to say he never would have guessed that the two knew each other much less were in a relationship. It didn't help that he didn't know the man, except for that the fact he was someone close to P'Phayu.
Clearing his throat he tried not to show his surprise, and let out a torrent of questions. Sky filled him in about the club, and how they'd met. He was happy that his friend met someone as good as him, but something must have happened. He looked at him in expectation.
Sky turned to Rain, and saw the question in his eyes and felt his stomach clench. He wasn't proud of how he'd handled everything, but he was determined to face it. He hesitated, but when he looked up again he saw nothing but patience in Rain's face.
He stared down at his hands as he spoke.
" A few days ago P'Pai got a call....from a health center."
Dread filled Rain's stomach, and he looked at his best friend in sympathy. Reaching over he slid one of the hands picking the skin of the other, into his own. Sky looked up, and smiled briefly at him. It was rare that their roles were reversed.
Most of the time Rain needed comfort, and not the other way around. Yet here they were , and he didn't mind the attention. Drawing in a breath he continued his story.
" One of the women he'd had a continuous friends with benefit arrangement was HIV positive, and she allowed the Health Center to contact her previous partners. It wasn't ideal, but I knew he'd had other partners before me." Sky's voice shook, and he didn't notice as his knuckles slowly whitened.
