Cordelia Cherry Ruelio, the only daughter of the Lord of Ruelio.
They're pretty rich, rich enough to go toe to toe with the Adelaide family.
For that reason, she knows Felix, and has a big crush on him despite knowing he's engaged to my sister.
I really can't blame her though, but Felix already has a lover! And that didn't stop her. She continued clinging to him with the help of her father.
For that reason, many readers hates her guts.
I slightly bowed.
She showed an irritating smile. "I've heard your joke to the ball last night, sadly, I wasn't there to give you a boost." Lumawak ang ngisi niya. "It's a good thing you know how to greet, after hearing what happened at the ball, I thought you really lack simple knowledge." She chuckled.
I don't know what expression to show. They know what happened last night, and probably heard what happened to my sister, so they're attacking me right now. As if I'll let them do that.
"Of course I know." I showed a teasing look. I used the paper I'm holding as a fan, I put it close to my mouth. "But the lady looks like she doesn't know how to greet, knowing she's in front of me, an Adelaide."
"I guess I'll ask my father to talk to Lord Ruelio and tell him to borrow my teacher, so that she can teach you some manners."
The look on her face is a victory price for me.
I really enjoy it when I read these kinds of scene in novels, I didn't imagine it's way more enjoyful to see it in real life.
"I-It's just a small joke, Lady Harlotte. . . i-it's nice to see you," ani Cordelia.
I smirked. Even though she's bowing, I can see her gritting her teeth well.
I chuckled. "Oh come on, I'm just also joking around, Lady Cordelia."
I see her biting her lower lip, irritated. Umangat ang ulo niya.
"It's fancy seeing you here, Lady Harlotte." She immediately changed the topic.
"Of course, reading books is a hobby of mine."
"Oh? That's nice then. But I can't imagine myself reading here in the library, not knowing if my sister is safe and sound."
My expression changed. Her cocky look is back again. She's getting back at me.
Still, I acted fine. "I see, you've heard about my sister. It may not look like it, but I really meant the joke I said last night." I maintained my composure, I faked a smile. "And of course, the great Detective Sherlock is also handling the case. We have nothing to worry about."
