Chapter 1

"Y/N! WAKE UP IT'S ALREADY 8!"

I woke up to my mom's scolding with a jolt. As much as I really want to go back to sleep, I had plans with some of my friends. I stretched out my arms and looked around lazily before I got off my bed and start preparing. I quickly combed my hair, took a bath, had breakfast, and put on my favorite outfit. You know, the usual.

"Bye mom! Bye dad!" I squealed before darting out of the door as quick as i can.

Today is gonna be a cool day. My friends from The Comets and I are gonna watch an epic battle between Legendary Bladers! I never knew any legendary bladers, but one thing i know, it's gonna be epic. I ran into the Rainbow Tri Arena and halted to a stop in front of my friends, panting.

"Hi guys! Sorry I'm late! I overslept, again..."

"Don't worry about it Y/N, Hikaru and Hyuga are running late too." Reina told me, chuckling.

"Of course they did..." I said, rolling my eyes.

"OK! How's it going all you bladers around the globe!? You're here at the Rainbow Tri Arena, ready to launch one legendary battle!"

"Wow, things are getting real hype." I said while looking around, mesmerized of the number of people cheering.

Just as i said that, we heard footprints rushing over to us, and before we knew it Hikaru and Hyuga skirted to a stop beside our seats.

"We made it..." Hikaru exclaimed.

"Well you're late!"

"Seriously guys, you barely made it!"

My friends ranted on how late they are, but it seems like that was the least of their worries.

"Heroes are never late, they arrive precisely when they're needed!" Hikaru said, eyes flashing and posing his kinda cringey signature pose.

"Right..." Reina and everyone sweatdropped.

"Wait... Hyuga your jacket's backwards!" I said, pointing to his dark red jacket, he must've been rushing.

So he finally noticed, fixed his jacket, and gave off a cheeky grin while giggling.

But not long after our attentions was drawn to the stage, as Hanami announced the first blader to go up on stage.

"Now would you please divert your attentions to the stage, join me on giving a warm welcome to a blading legend... VALT AOI!"

The whole crowd burst out cheering as Valt ran to the stage (yes, that is a beyblade pun). meanwhile since I never knew any Legendary Bladers, I just deadpanned and said...

"Who's Valt Aoi?"

And then the rest of the Comets cringed and did an anime fall before Hikaru explained to me.

"Oh, of course, we forgot you didn't know... Valt is a super cool blader, he's famous for his unbelievable battles over the years, he's even considered the strongest blader out there!"

"Wow, so he's number 1!? Well then, you just got me interested!" I said before paying close attention to him.

I looked at Valt closely, I think he looked pretty cool. But then it hit me, when i looked straight into his eyes he seems so familiar to me, as if I had met him before, but i just can't figure it out. I got so into the feeling that I zoned out, I didn't even pay attention to his speech. I tried to rack my brains into remembering when I saw him, but I just couldn't.

"Y/N, are you ok?" Hikaru asked me.

"HUH!? Uhh- Yea! Just got a little zoned out."

"Ooh~ Does Y/N have a blader crush~?" Reina asked in a teasing tone.
