AETHEL LEYWIN POV:

The trip to Xyrus went exactly like what had happened in the novel, us getting to formally meet the twin horns getting attacked by bandits, mom revealing she was pregnant, and as expected, me and Arthur fell off a cliff.

Me falling off the cliff with Arthur was part of my plan.

I'd thought about it long and hard, although unsure whether or not she'd grant me my shameful request.

Opening my eyes I'd discovered that me and my currently unconscious brother was alive after we'd fell off a cliff high enough to kill even adults.

Though I'm clearly awake, I still couldn't muster up enough strength to stand up as even moving parts of my body were hard.

Sighing heavily, I didn't try to stand up forcefully, I just stayed where I was, wanting to rest for awhile as I knew my efforts would just be fruitless.

Though luckily, I can move my head, making me look more closely at where we are.

Observing every part of the forest, I'd noticed that no mana beast was nearby, making me quite relieved even though it was expected.

As everything was quiet, something seemed to move, at first I thought it was a beast that I've failed to sense but instead of it being a mana beast, it was my brother.

Observing every move he had done, whether it be his eyes quivering or his arm slowly, shake, you could see that he was surprised, yet also happy.

I decided to be silent in this moment, knowing it isn't really necessary to talk.

Looking back at Arthur, he seemed to try force his body to move, 'how persistent' I thought, looking at him, I sighed heavily, gaining his attention.

"Don't force it.. just rest." I managed to let out, making him surprised of me yet also happy knowing I'm alive.

Closing my eyes, I enjoyed the silence as I thought once more about my plan, was it really needed for me to make such a shameful request?

ARTHUR LEYWIN POV:

As I had woken up, I'd tried to force myself onto moving my body as my brother stopped me, I didn't know why but I did as he said.

Yet I met myself with an immediate question.

How did we survive?

No Don't get me wrong- I was happy that we did, but it was just too surprising to me as I was certain the fall would lead us to our death.

My Brother seemed to be a lot more relaxed than me, having his naturally unreadable expression as he viewed our situation like he knew this would happen.

After a rest that I seemed to have needed, I was finally able to move my body, looking back at my brother, he seemed to be deep in thought with his eyes closed, almost ignoring everything around him.

If I hadn't known him well I would've likely thought that he was asleep.

Anyways, first thing's first. I made my way to the corpse of the mage while trying to avoid looking at the heinous injuries that caused his demise. Spotting the knife I was looking for, I quickly jerked it out of his thigh.

I wasn't sure how long I would have to be here so having a weapon was critical.

'Oh, you two are awake.' A foreign voice said, as my brother's eyes suddenly lit up.

I instantly got into a fighting stance, gritting through the pain from the sudden movement, with my knife in hand, turning to face the carcass.

I swear to God if this corpse is the one that's talking…
