so now that you know that you want to become a kemono you may or may not know much about them which is fine! This chapter will be about what a kemono is and its origins kinda! :)
-What is a kemono??-
A kemonomimi is a human with some or a few animal features. But I just use kemono for short. its name comes from Japanese folklore and it means animal ears. I think it also means half man half beast as well. You can even see kemonos almost anywhere! In cartoons, movies, animes, books, cosplays, yea they're popular.
But most kemonos will have whatever animal ears, a tail, and sometimes longer fangs and longer nails if they want that. there are a lot of kemono types that have their names but some don't! but kemonos don't only have to be mammals! they can also be reptiles and I think birds if they wouldn't count as avians.
-About your ears-
For mammal kemonos or any that would change the shape of their ears, if you're wondering if your animal ears would go on the top of your head you wrong. they would have to replace your natural human ears for them to function. if they were at the top of your head then they would just be flesh and bone. they wouldn't be able to function because you wouldn't have the right nerves and stuff. you would only be able to hear out of your human ears. and you wouldn't be able to move your animal ears if they were on top of your head. They would have to be at the sides of your head where your normal ears are. after some time of achieving results, your human ears will slowly shift and kinda transform into your desired animal ears. it may hurt at some times but it is the healthy way without having to do many modifications to your skull. if your ears were at the top of your head you would have to develop new cartilage at the top of your head which is incorrect in anatomy. when they're at the sides of your head you don't have to do much to your skull! you mostly just change your ear and maybe a bit of your skull.
if you're wondering how will the fur turn out when developing your ears, there are two options I can think of. 1 is that you will grow your fur while in the growing process of your ears and tail, so if your ears are shaping into cat ears you may grow hair there, the same goes with your tail. this would happen if you grow body hair quickly. another way is that you will grow the fur when your animal features are fully developed. if this happens then you would just have skin ears and a tail which would look kinda weird lmao, but if you don't wanna wait that long for your fur to grow I got news for you! there are subliminal thankfully on youtube that will make it so that you grow the fur quicker than your body would usually. I think these Subliminals are very helpful for this but there isn't much out there.
-About your tail-
depending on your kemono type you will get different sizes and shapes for your tail! if you a bunny kemono your tail would be pretty short, but recently I found out that bunny tails are longer than they look which is pretty cool! if your becoming a cat kemono your tail would be pretty long but kinda skinny. a wolf kemono would have a bit of a shorter tail compared to a fox and cat. if your thinking about how long your tail will be I don't have an answer. :/ it kinda depends on how you grow and your age. if you're younger then your tail will still be growing till you become an adult I think. if you are an adult tho your tail wouldn't grow that much after you get full results. but your tail would just be an extension of your spine and it'll grow longer until it stops when I don't know when that will happen.
-About your fangs+claws-
note that this only goes to kemonos that will have sharper teeth or for anyone that just wants longer fangs. your fangs would be simple to understand. you just have your 4 canines grow longer and sometimes your back teeth I forgot what they called but you chew with them. they would become sharper along with your canines. it won't affect your 8 front teeth tho.
next is your claws which are even more simple to explain. your nails get longer and more durable thats it! but some people bite their nails so it may be difficult for them to grow them out or some people may not feel comfortable having longer nails! but once your nails get long enough and you're fine with it you can file them at an angle so that way it resembles the shape of a claw. but something happens that I hate so much. it's when you break your nail. when having longer nails and you try doing stuff like opening a soda can it may be a bit difficult to open since your nails will get in the way. once I was trying to climb a tree and I jumped up to grab a branch and I guess it was too high so it bent and split my nail thankfully not that deep tho.
Anyways this is the end for this chapter i hope you liked it and i hope i didnt say anything incorrect! have a good day or night everyone reading this! <33
