Ash and I walked out of the hospital toward home. We each carried one kitten. Darky, our kitty pet, had fortunately appeared (or summoned by Ash) and carried the dead kitten body. He was smaller than the newborn! We planned to bury the body next to the flowers in our yard. We didn't need a "proper" funeral because this was just a newborn. No one except us alone would mourn for this kitten. Besides, we're a single family. I mean, my family are humans, and all of Ash's are ... Dead. So it's just us. When we reached our den (it's as big as a hotel), we found the flowers. We scraped dirt next to them. After a while, I had scratched up a hole in the ground. I took a sniff and gagged. It smelled like gas! I got up and looked at Ash, concerned. "Ash," I asked. "Do you have any ... Uh ... Human objects we can use to rid this awful smell?" I didn't say 'perfume' because it was a thing a human used, plus I wasn't a human. I pretended I didn't know what it was called. Ash shook his head. "Nope." He lifted his paw and pointed it at me. "Don't you?" I looked down. I was carrying a little purse. I dug through it until I found a bottle. "Perfume!" I purred. "Smells so good! Like a magical aroma ..." It was a huge effort to tip it over to the hole and spray it. After I put the perfume back into my purse, Ash and I, together, lifted Soul by the scruff and placed the dead kitten into the hole. "Goodbye, little one," I whispered, giving the body a gentle and final lick. Ash echoed the action, also licking Soul. After a few minutes, i unsheathed my claws and raked the dirt across the hole. The dirt fell into it. More dirt was filling up the hole. Later, we returned to our den.

Ash had some 'work' to do, so he left the den. Which meant that he left me to take care of the kittens. They were obedient, though. They weren't playful, like other kittens. "Come here," i beckoned. The kittens cuddled near my belly and suckled. It tickled, and I tried not to laugh. Soon, it was done. I left the room in the den to get something. Before I turned back after getting what I needed, I heard a clang and a crackling noise. I walked back to the kittens' room. I screamed. One kitten was flying in circles, and the other ... I screamed again, but louder. The other kitten had set a wooden toy on fire! I found a bucket in the corner of the room, and picked it up. I hurried to the nearest bathroom and scooped the bucket into the pool. I raced with the heavy bucket to the kittens' room. I poured all the water from the bucket onto the fire-lit toy. The remains of the toy was nothing but a pile of ash. Panting, I grabbed the kittens and held them to my chest. How did my kittens get these powers?
