Ember Brown

It was early.

Before I headed to school, there was a place I wanted to stop by. It was near the school so I figured I'd just stop by real quick.

There was a memorial for our classmate near the school as well. Sometimes I'd come to pay my respects when ever I got the chance to.

"Can't let go?"

"Of course not." I mumbled as I placed the flowers down.

Closing my eyes, I clasped my fingers together, saying a quiet prayer. Once I was done, I stood up, looking at him. He stared at my with a sympathetic look.

"What?" I crossed my arms against my chest.

"Forgetting is hard, huh?"

Blinking my eyes a few times, I twisted my lips.

"Yeah."

Anzai pushed his hands into his pockets. "You don't think you can move on?"

"No."  I tucked my lips.

"You should try to."

"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows at him.

"You should try to forget." Anzai leaned against the railing. "Move on. Go forward." He said as he stared at nothing in particular. "Find happiness. A new love." He spoke. "Look forward to the fut-."

"Stop!" I yelled.

"Em-."

"You don't understand anything!" I shouted. "I can't forget that easily just because you think I should!" I blinked my eyes repeatedly. "Just shut up!"

I crossed my arms against my chest, turning my back to him. He didn't say anything. A few moments passed before I turned to look back him.

But once I did he was gone.

Letting out deep breath, I closed my eyes tightly. Shaking off my nerves, I decided to head to just quickly make my way to school so I wouldn't be later.

Suprisingly enough, I didn't run into Anzai all day and it made me somewhat anxious. He was constantly popping up around me all the time but I hadn't seen him since this morning.

Did he not want to be around me anymore?

Did he take offense to what I said to him earlier?

These are the thoughts that plagued my mind throughout the day.

Did I push him away?

The school day came and went and still there was no sign of Anzai.

"Where is he?" I mumbled, frowning a little.

"You okay?" Symone asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I forced a smile on my face as we walked outside of the school.

"Hey." A certain classmate of ours walked up to us.

"Hey, Grey." Symone smiled. "How are you doing today?"

 "How are you doing today?"
