A tear fell from my eye as when they opened seeing just blue light and darkness. I hadn't known where I was, or who I was, I was just here. A nobody for right now.I floated around in my tight cubby like space and released a breath I didn't know I had. Though I was floating I was still trapped onto a platform that must've been used for a bed, however it wasn't as comfort as it should've been.
I looked up as I rolled out of the cubby, it opened before me and I slid out smoothly. I looked around at the large and advanced room i was in, cubbies like mine all in a row where it was spaced out next to each one, people who wore nurse-like wear floated around the large room.
A brown-skinned man who wore the outfits I had seen before floated on top of my bed that was still stuck to the cubby.
"Are we there?" I asked, I didn't expect it to come so fast, for this moment to be here so suddenly. I was nervous and excited but my body didn't give that expression, I was still tired and in shock I could barely move, hence the straps that were wrapped against my body.
He chuckled softly and nodded, "We're there, red. We're there."
"You have been in cyro for five years!" A masculine voice started to shout, it was normal after being in silence for all this time. I flinched slightly but shook it off, I would have to get used to my old senses. It hadn't felt like five years. "You will feel hungry! You will feel weak!"
That man was right, I was hungry and I could barely move. "If you feel nausea, please use the sacks."
I wasn't nauseous, but I wished I was. So I could feel human again.
I was now unstrapped from my platform and floated to what looked like small lockers. One had my name on it and floated to it, I opened it and looked at the contents inside. A picture of a family that was long gone, a picture of a lover I barely remembered and some other things I don't remember seeing. What a good locker.
Pandora was the place I and more people were headed to. I remembered that. It was a life outside of earth. When you'd hear about that, you'd think of aliens, those big black eyed large forehead green creatures. But the Pandora people were nothing like that.
A man started yelling various words that I could quickly enough register in my brain, I was still in my cyro mind where I didn't have to worry about anything. All I know was that we had to put some type of face mask or we'd be dead. So I grabbed a face mask that had a glass cover and quickly contained it over my face.
I could hear my breathing, it was obnoxiously loud but I ignored it and stared in front of me in silence, and only moved at the vehicles movements.
"Harnesses off!"
I quickly took off my harness and grabbed a bag and ran outside of the big vehicle.
"Well well, ladies." Ironic for a woman that was pretty out-populated by all the men.
I then found myself sitting in a room full of men staring at the most important person in there. Colonel Quatrich. An asshole but an important one. I just sat there and listened.
"We're not in Kansas anymore," He said his words loudly so every heard him clear, "You are on Pandora, ladies and gentlemen. Respect that fact every second of every day."
I sighed quietly to myself, knowing he was going to give a speech that made him look like a wise man. And though his words were true, and his mindset was fair, I found myself not being able to agree fully of his opinions.
