Chapter 18 - "I dont know what to believe"

Keaton's POV.

I've ignored her calls, and i got Wes to make sure if she did come over to tell her i was away visiting family. I didn't know how to deal with this issue, it was shit when she wanted her ex over me..but cheating is just way over the line. I thought we worked out all our issues. But the more i think about it it seems she has been hiding something all along. I was never the type to get revenge but i need to do something. I need her to know what it feels like to have the one you love be ripped away from you by another. It's not right to hurt her but after everything, every part of me is saying she does.

I got Wes to invite her over, saying that he wanted to hang out. I currently am placed down the block with a random girl that i met at the coffee house a week ago. She's really nice and she sure understands the issue i am facing at hand. The day i found her she was crying over her boyfriend cheating on her with her best friend.

So mentioning my issue to her she was all in on helping me. I made sure to tell her how this was going to start out and we both agree nothing will ever happen with us and feelings currently and shall not be there. I checked my phone as the signal text was sent. i nodded to Ruby as she nodded and looked ahead. I soon pulled into the driveway, i took a deep breath before getting out and grabbing her hand in mine.

"It will be fine Keaton." She whispered. Lord i hope she was right.

Walking up to the door i instructed her it was her time to start what the plan consisted of. Her lips soon were placed on my neck. I can't believe i am so nervous. I try putting my key in the door, this is so hard. as the door gets unlocked i move Ruby until she stands in front of me. She gives me a reassuring smile. I tried smiling back but it was just weird.

"Want me to lead?" I nod, knowing i wouldn't be able to do this without a little push.

She soon places her lips on mine, the kiss is weird. I'm so use to kissing only Kory. But i soon catch a lead and take a slight charge as i pull her closer to me as i open the door. I lead her into the house as our lips stay connected. I hear someone clear their throat. But i ignore it as i continue kissing Ruby. Removing my lips from hers i grab her hand and head up stairs towards my room. Reaching the room i close the door quickly.

"I took a glance at her, Keaton she didn't look happy." Ruby just smiles realizing she has done something good.

"She doesn't need to be happy with this Ruby. She caused everything to ruin in our relationship." I whispered as i tried to listen to the loud voices.

"I can't believe him!" Kory voice booms through the house as i know her anger is getting the best of her.

"He is probably high or something. He loves you Kory know what he is doing is most likely a big mistake. Cheating is never the option."

"I don't know what to believe."

"Who are you calling?" Wes questions, i have good idea who she's calling.

"Hello, Mr. Lucas...you were right Keaton was cheating on me.."

That son of a bitch! I hit my balled up fist against the wall as i try not to rush out of this room and head to Mr. Lucas and beat the hell out of him. I can't believe he filled her head full of shit. I should have told her my opinion on him after dinner that night. I should have told her to deny his offer and stay with me. If i would have spoken my damn mind she wouldn't have slept with him and i wouldn't have cheated on her right in front of her. None of this would have happened if i spoke up. The John shit wouldn't have happened if i said something.

All the shit that has happened in our relationship is my fault as much as hers. I could have tried better. But after tomorrow she will be gone, off to England living with a man who can love her better than i can. Tomorrow she will leave this hell and be happy. Happy without me.

I sit with my back against the wall as i calm down. Ruby stands in the middle of the room confused. "Everything okay?" her soft voice questions.

"The man she cheated on me with filled her head full of shit and tomorrow she is leaving with him for God knows how long, and i did nothing to stop her and nothing to fix anything. All i did was hurt her like she hurt me which lead her to run into his arms."

"You have one more chance to get her to see the truth that you love her and i am going to help you." I watch as Ruby walks over to my desk grabbing a note book and a pen. She soon places herself in front of me. "Now tell me what you love the most about Kory."

"How is this going to fix anything Ruby?"

"I am going to help you write a letter for someone to give her before she leaves as she knows that you love her and you are sorry. As well as letting her know that you know what she has done and how you feel about that. Oh is there anything you have wanted to give her that we can place in the envelope." I nod as i remove myself from the floor before heading to my dresser. I reach around in the drawer until i feel the cool metal against my fingers. I quickly grab it before heading back to ruby. Handing it to her, she smiles.

"I guess proposing now would be a bad choice huh?"

"Confessing your love to another and asking them to spend the rest of their life with you is never a bad choice no matter what has happened." I smile at her words as she lays the ring down beside her.

"Now tell me how you and Kory first met."
