When Feng Jiu woke up the next morning she was a bit disoriented. Looking around the room she noticed the cloak His Majesty had given her hanging up and the phoenix hair pin in a box on the table.

Getting up and looking at the hair pin flashes of the night before came to her mind. Talking with Mu Yun, His Majesty gifting the hair pin, His Majesty picking her up and bringing her to her room, His Majesty stroking her cheek, and...... everything is black from there.

"Oh no! Did His Majesty and I?..." Feng Jiu whispered to herself. She tried to remember if anything else had happened, but she simply couldn't remember.

"Mu Yun!" Feng Jiu called out and said individual came running in.

"Your Highness. You are finally awake. It is already past morning heading into mid-day." Mu Yun said.

"Mu Yun. Tell me, did His Majesty stay here last night?" Feng Jiu asked dreading the answer.

"His Majesty rewarded you many good stuff last night and had wanted to stay but...." Mu Yun trailed off with her eyes down casted.

"But." Feng Jiu prompted.

"You drank alot and went straight to bed so His Majesty came out soon after." Mu Yun explained.

"I fell asleep. Really?" Feng Jiu clarified with relief.

"Yes. His Majesty did not seem happy about it. It was me who looked after you while you were sleeping. " Mu Yun stated.

Feng Jiu smiled with pure relief. Thank God, nothing happened. It seems God is looking out for me. Feng Jiu thought sending her silent praise up to the heavens.

"Oh come on your Highness! I really don't understand you. Why are you so happy about this? Do you not know how His Majesty feels about you." Mu Yun asked. She didn't understand why her lady stayed distant to Xuanren Song.

Feng Jiu's smile faded off her lips as she looked at the hair pin still in her hands. Your Majesty. Of course I know how much you like me in this life. But you can never know how much I love you in this life or any other. I wish it could be different, but we are simply not ment to be. Feng Jiu thought with a mental sigh.

"Let's get dressed for the day. I would like to pay Imperial Concubine Wan a visit." Feng Jiu said deciding to ignore Mu Yun's questions.

"Yes." Mu Yun sighed dejectedly with a curtsy then went to get Feng Jiu an outfit for the day.

Once dressed in a coral pink dress that matched Mu Yun's Feng Jiu sat down so Mu Yun could do her hair. When Mu Yun went to put the phoenix hair pin in Feng Jiu stopped her.

"Don't put it on. I think it is better this way." Feng Jiu said.

"Your Highness." Mu Yun started hesitantly. "You seldom dress up and His Majesty was nice to give you the phoenix hair pin. Also you are Madam Jiu now and should dress the part." Mu Yun expressed placing the hair pin in Feng Jiu's hair.

"See your Highness, the phoenix hair pin really goes with your beauty." Mu Yun said as Feng Jiu looked in the hand mirror.

"It reminds me of a poem." Mu Yun said thoughtfully.

"You can recite poems?" Jiu questioned.

"Your smile looks so beautiful, your eyes so cheerful. I think the poem portrays you. Your Highness." Mu Yun said cheerfully.

"You just say that to please me." Feng Jiu replied teasingly, a smile on her face.

Suddenly a servant came in and bowed in greeting. "Empress Dowager is here." He announced.
