Purpled was pissed at Tommy, and the blond had no idea why. Everytime he was near the other, Purpled would send him a harsh glare and sometimes scoff. Tommy had never been close to Purpled or his family, and he hadn't done anything to anger any of them, at least not that he could think of. He hadn't even really talked to anyone in the family! But every time he saw Purpled, the other was glaring at him.
He vented about this to Mellohi a few times, but since she was a dragon she didn't really have any advice for him, at least not that she could actually give him. One time she even hit Tommy on the head to get him to stop talking about the other blonde and his hatred towards Tommy. He had gotten the dragon back by throwing a fish at her face, and it ended with the two of them rolling into the lake and getting soaked.
Tommy had learned a lot about dragons as he spent more time with Mellohi, and the two flew around pretty often. Everytime they were in the sky, Tommy felt amazing and free just like the first time. Even though the fear never completely went away, he trusted Mellohi completely and he knew the dragon trusted him as well.
Tommy kept getting better during the dragon training too, his time with Mellohi teaching him lots of tricks to help him defeat the dragons without having to hurt them. Speaking of dragon training, Tommy took a deep breath as he walked into the stadium. It was getting closer and closer to the day they would choose who would get to kill a dragon.
Tommy knew the others would all be excited for the opportunity, but Tommy would absolutely not be. He didn't think, no, he knew he couldn't kill a dragon. He just didn't have it in him, not after everything he's seen and experienced. Before the thought of killing a dragon filled him with excitement and pride, now all he felt was dread an with excitement and even pride, now the idea only made him feel dread and guilt. Luckily it was much more likely that Purpled would get the honor, since he was a much better fighter than Tommy and had done great during training from day one.
The more Tommy thought about Purpled fighting and killing a dragon, the more the pit in his stomach grew. Had Tommy really gone so far away from everything he had been taught as a child that now the thought of a single dragon dying made him feel sick? Tommy could only imagine how disappointed Wilbur must be from where he watched the family in his place in Aether. Prime knows Nidarc was saving a special place in Nether just for him.
Tommy shook his head, trying to clear away his thoughts, and walked towards the others in the arena. As of right now they were all just talking, since Sam hadn't arrived yet. Tommy looked up at the viewing area, seeing that a couple people had come to watch today. He didn't recognize a lot of them, but eventually he found himself locking eyes with someone that made him shiver. Looking straight at him and him only, was Dream. He didn't know why Dream was making him feel so uneasy since he found Mellohi, but there was no denying that he did.
"Ah, good, you're all here. Today's lesson will be very different. Today we're going to tackle tidal class dragons." Sam said as he walked in. Tommy tore his eyes away from Dream and turned to look at their teacher. "Unlike most dragons, those in tidal class live in the water. Because of that, they don't have fire attacks. Instead they have attacks that range from boiling water, ice, and even electricity."
Tommy glanced back at Dream once more, before placing his focus on the lesson. In all honesty, he was just as excited to learn about dragons now as he was back before he shot that faithful arrow, though for very different reasons. He had even started dreaming about befriending other dragons during his naps in the clearing with Mellohi. He couldn't help but be excited by the idea of seeing a new dragon, doing his best to hold a smile back.
He wondered what the gods must think of him. Did they think of Tommy as the traitor he likely was? Would Prime let him into her realm and let him fade away with the others in End, or is there truly a special place in Nether for him? He doubted Inatari would ever let Tommy into her realm. Perhaps Exdee or Herobrine would enjoy his love of dragons...
