i tiptoed across the hall to talk to chris. i softly tapped on the door, no response. i was about to walk back over to my room when i heard faint music coming from the other side of the door. he was awake, he was just ignoring me, or he didn't heard me knock.

i turned the knob to see if it was unlocked, it was. i slowly opened the door and peeped my head in. "hey" i whispered. chris was laying on his bed staring up at the ceiling just listening to music.

"oh, hi" he said while sitting up. "can i come in?" i asked. "yeah, is everything okay?" he asked. "yeah, everything is fine. i just wanted to talk to you." i said while closing the door behind me.

"about what?" he asked scooting over so i could sit next to him. "i wanna know why you're upset." i said not looking at him. i could feel his eyes dart towards me. "i'm not upset" he mumbled.

"chris, yes you are. it was obvious in the kitchen earlier." i said turning towards him. "tessa, i'm fine." he replied. "i know you're upset. and i can't help but feel like you're upset with me. i don't know what i did, but whatever it is i wanna fix it. i can't stand the thought of someone being mad at me." i said.

"i'm not upset. and i'm not mad at you. but i do wanna be alone." he stated. "why?" i asked. "because, i have a lot going on and i'm just wanting to sort it out that's all." he replied.

i felt like that was my time to leave. "if something was wrong though, you'd tell me right?" i asked opening his door. "i'll see you in the morning." he said before turning his music back up and laying back down to stare at the ceiling.

he didn't say it, but now i know he's upset with me.
