Alongside you chapter 7 • Komore Tea House

Context:
Kazuha and Kuni are together and as a treat, Kazuha takes Kuni on a "date" to komore tea house.
Both characters are respectively 14(Kaz) and 16(Scara)
Kazuha pov:
I opened my eyes to be greeted with some delicious chazuke.. whoa it looked so good...
The rice was shaped in six identical balls hovering in the rice, topped by some boiled sea grass and a gently lain slice of unagi. The aroma filled the room and I swear it would make my mouth water.

"Kuni.. You made this?! It looks delicious! Oh my, thank you for the food!" I thanked him, as I was about to grab my chopsticks, he abruptly took them before me. He delicately positioned his fingered as to control them as opened his mouth to speak.

"Ah ah ah, you fed me, so now it's my turn! Open wide~" he said slyly with a wide grin. My face flushed violently in a dark crimson red. Embarrassingly, i opened my mouth slowly and he gave me a spoonful of the chazuke.

"What do you think? Is it good? It's my personal specialty, I call it Shimi Chazuke." Said Kuni proudly. "It tastes amazing! Wow, I'm seriously impressed Kunikuzushi! The tea isn't too bitter and the unagi isn't too salty.." I rambled on and on about how flavoursome the dish was. Sooner or later, I raised my head to notice him with a small smile plastered on his face with a bit of blush on his cute little cheeks.. " I'm happy you love it, Kazuha" he said, as he lightly clapped his hands together and tilted his head with his usual cutesy smile on his rosy lips.

After finishing the unagi chazuke~

Kunikuzushi pov:
I fed all the chazuke to Kazuha. I was very happy he liked my cooking, im certainly glad I didn't inherit mother's cooking skills.. After that, I picked up everything left on the table and made my way to the kitchen to leave all the dirty dishes. As I went back, Kazuha got up and asked me something.

"Wanna go out around Inazuma city? Take it as my treat for the chazuke!" He said. "By the way.. please hand me a recipe it was so good..!" He mumbled quietly. I giggled a bit and responded "The recipe is a secret" I stated at the platinum haired with glee, as if I had won some childish argument. The crimson eyed whined like a child with his head down. I stopped in my tracks, turned to him and gave him a warm hug "C'mon, cheer up, it's just a Chazuke recipe! I'll make it for you when I come over other times, I promise." I told him, as an effort to make him happy again, i really wanted him to smile. He lifted his head after hearing my words and beamed a smile. 'His smile is as bright as the sun..'

Later on outside in the city streets~

"Is there anywhere you'd like to go, Kuni?" He asked with a small smile plastered on his face, as usual. "I'd like to go to Komore Tea House.. I like going there with my mother and 'sister' during meals. Their hotpot tastes nice and their tea is succulent." I affirmed while slowly starting to walk towards the Tea House, as I grabbed Kazuha's hand. People walking by would gawk at us and kept murmuring things such as 'look at that cute couple' or 'ah, young love..' and of course 'look at those two cute boys holding hands, they look like and adorable couple!'. My face scrunched up at all these comments and my face grew red. I slowly lowered my head as to not feel as embarrassed and calm down.

"Don't mind their comments, Kuni. I'll tell them we are just friends if this makes you feel uncomfortable.." Kazuha said as he walked a bit closer to me and lifted my head up. His words made my heart warmer.. No matter what he did could comfort me, it was weird considering the fact that I don't have a heart of my own.. "It's fine, let's just hurry.. this is a bit embarrassing.." I replied, scratching my neck awkwardly. Even with all the previous comments, my body just couldn't resist.. I got a bit closer to him, our shoulders inches of colliding together. I lowered my head as my face reddened a bit.
He was acting normal, looking at the setting sun and the rose coloured clouds slowly turning an orange tint with a vibrant red hue.
"The sky looks very beautiful today, doesn't it?" I said. Kazuha muttered something under his breath that I wasn't able to hear. ('Yeah, you look beautiful.' Were the words that escaped his lips) "What was that?" "Yeah, the sky looks beautiful.." he said again, yet for some reason, his face grew a light shade of pink on his cheeks.
"Oh, look! We're here." He stated as we were right next to the small gravel path that would lead right into the tea house. He slightly ran towards the door and held it open with a small smile and lightly bowing down, as a gesture to let me go in first. "If you may, ladies first~" he slightly teased. As I walked towards the door he was oh-so politely holding open, I gave him a light smack on the head and walked through. "Thank you, my dearest gentleman." I teased back, turning my head towards him, pulling my left eyelid slightly down and sticking my tongue out. My typical and favourite tease.

Kazuha pov:
'That was too cute..' I thought as my face turned a bit red and warm. I covered my mouth as to calm myself down. After a few seconds, I entered the tea house to see Kuni waiting for me, cross legged on one of the tall stools. His back was facing me and he didn't seem to have ordered any food yet. I silently approached him and got near his ear, "Hi~" I whispered to him. He immediately turned his head towards the source of the noise he had heard with a bright red flushed face. This was my little revenge for hitting me earlier. "Y-you!—" He stuttered oh-very cutely. "Me?~" I replied, pointing at myself. He just turned his head as an effort to calm himself down and to not encourage me to tease him further, what a shame.

"I'd like to have a private room please, Taroumaru." The cute dog barked as it got up and jumped off the counter, leading us to a small room at the end of a corridor in the small maple wood building. As we entered Taroumaru barked at us twice and I responded "Yes two bowls of hotpot will be good." He then turned towards Kunikuzushi and barked thrice. "Do you want anything, Kuni?" "Umm.. a large cup of bitter tea, please." He said, crouching down to the small shiba's height and making a one with his finger. The dog then left the room and we heard him bark in the distance.

"How in the world do you understand what he says?" Kuni asked me. "I dont, the wind just helps me figure out what Taroumaru is saying." I replied simply, as Kunikuzushi just did a little frown in slight disbelief. " Come on, let's sit down." He said as he walked over to the silk cushions placed on the ground, facing each other, in front of a low maple wood table. Music was playing in the background as we were patiently waiting for our meal. During the whole time, I kept my head low but little did the ethereal raven-haired boy seated in front of me know, I was staring at him, more precisely, his lips, the whole wait. His lips had a distinguished pink colour to them that resembled blooming peonies in spring. Not to mention, they always seemed to be a bit wet, making me have a hard craving to just kiss them, to kiss him...
