Ness P.O.V:
After I met with a few of my friends, I followed (Y/N) to the photoroom inside the school.
"So....what did you find?"
"Nico said that while she was working front desk at the hotel, some injured boy came in, gave her a note to give to Room 27, then ran out of the hotel. They obviously called the police after, and when they checked the note, it was a cipher that spelled out 'please help me.'"
"That's awful.. did she give a description of the guy who gave her the note?"
"Uhhh.....she said he had dirty and mussed brown hair, green eyes with heavy eye bags, and he was covered in dirt and had a bunch of bruises on his arms. Some of them were open, and still bleeding too."
I cringed just thinking about the open bruises. "....and what does this have to do with Paula?"
(Y/N) shrugged. "I was just wondering if maybe his case is connected to Paula's."
We stood in silence for a couple of moments, before I put a hand on her shoulder. "How about we meet up first thing tomorrow? Meet me at the drugstore at 10:00 am. We can see if these cases are similar. I'm tired, and I don't think I could continue this right now.."
She nodded in agreement, but I still wanted to say one thing before she left. I put my arm around her shoulders and gave her a friendly squeeze. She gasped and looked at me, and I gave her a smile back. "(Y/N)....I just want to say thank you. You're a big help with finding Paula, and once we find her, I'm sure she'll be just as grateful of your help as I am."
She nodded, and I let go of her. We went our opposite ways and I began my way home.
(Y/N) P.O.V:
I met up with Nico on the field again, and we started walking back home. Nico was trying to talk to me. Or maybe she was? I couldn't hear her. All I could think of was how Ness gave me a side hug. His smile, how close I was to him, how he told me he was grateful for my work.
I could feel my face heating up just thinking about it.
I didn't even notice Nico snapping her fingers in front of my face for my attention. "Hellooooo? Earth to (nickname), please."
I jolted back to reality. "H-huh?"
"You've been in your head for a while. Time for you to come back to earth, we're at your home."
"O-oh! I'm so sorry!" I gave her a reassuring smile. "Thanks for walking me home. See you soon."
She smiled back. "See you!" She began walking back to her home, and I entered mine.
As I made it through dinner and lounged in my room, I couldn't help but be excited for tomorrow. A whole day with Ness!
