—FIRST WARNING—

When Awa'atlu heard that their neighboring island had been invaded by the sky people and that the Na'vi there were almost annihilated like their Tulkun population, they were fearful.

The Metkayina Na'vi went back to giving the Omatikaya refugees glares. Neteyam noticed that Lo'ak would often sail across the sea with his Ilu, wanting to see how his Tulkun friend, Payakan was doing.

He remembers the day Lo'ak told the circle about the Tulkun, claiming he wasn't bad, and that he had saved him that day when Ao'nung and his friends had left him stranded (and almost to die) beyond the perilous reefs.

Neteyam was worried for his younger brother.

"Neteyam," Ao'nung shook him, bringing the boy back from his trance.
"Sorry..." Neteyam lightly apologized, blinking furiously as his jaw was clenched.

Ao'nung gave him a soft look. "Stop thinking about it, ease it off," He said.

"How can I when—"

Ao'nung lifted Neteyam's chin and met the worried golden yellow that peered up at him. "Nothing has happened yet. We're safe at the moment. Your family and you are safe, Ok?"

"You're right," Neteyam sighed, his eyes lowering to their entwined hands. His slender thumb caressed Ao'nung's cold one, finding comfort in the slight cool touch.

"I can't help but worry. You know how Lo'ak is," Neteyam breathed. Ao'nung's hand trailed from the boy's chin and down his neck, his caress light and almost hovering over Neteyam's warm skin that almost spooked him with delight.

The boy cocked his head, his bruised lips parting as a satisfied sigh left his lips. Ao'nung's fingers ran through his neck, almost tickling.

Neteyam closed his eyes, his forehead furrowing. He threw his head back, resting it upon the water Na'vi's shoulder.

"I, for some odd reason feel like nothing is well," He said, referring to that constant dread eating away at his stomach from the inside and out. It was something that he couldn't shake off. He had told his lover about it just a few days prior.

Ao'nung knew not to take it lightly. His clan—as well as any clan in Pandora—were spiritual beings. He knew better than to ignore, and frankly, he was fearful for his mate.

"What does it feel like?" He asked though it hadn't been the first time. He already knew, but asked once more to empathize and decipher what his lover could be feeling.

"It burns. It's sad and grim. It feels as if I don't have enough time. It feels like I'm living but not actually living..." He paused, his furrowed golden eyes piercing through Ao'nung's ocean blue. "Maybe it's because I'm hesitant and worry too much about the feeling that it feels like I'm not living life," He said.

Ao'nung hummed with understanding. He leaned, sucking on the forest Na'vi's lower lip, his dazzling blue eyes jabbing through Neteyam's lidded glimmering ones.

He wanted Neteyam to forget, and no longer worry about what the feeling could mean.

His large hands traced down the darker Na'vi's torso, which was soft to the caress, yet sturdy; his abs flexed and well-defined.

Neteyam grasped his mate's neck, squeezing with haste, his tongue stroking around the taller's warm mouth. Their tongues massaged jointly, a few sighs escaping their lips.

Ao'nung's deep chortle rang through Neteyam's perked ears.

"You've got a thing for necks," He said, his toothy grin wide and beaming, reminding Neteyam of Ronal. That smile was one in a million. Occasionally rare, but Neteyam was blessed to see it all the time.

"Your neck is strong. Who wouldn't?" Neteyam said, almost shrugging as his fingers caressed along the Adam's apple of his mate, and the thin vein that ran from the jaw to his collarbone. It was seducing to the eye. Neteyam loved how well the shark tooth necklace adorned Ao'nung's potent collarbones.

"Drooling for me, are you?" Ao'nung shook his head, his heart slamming hard against his chest. Pride fell upon his shoulders, pleased to be a sight that Neteyam could drool over.

"The one and only," Neteyam replied, smirking.

Ao'nung cradled the Na'vi's head, his soft eyes widening with expectancy. "Are you feeling fine now?"

Neteyam firmly nodded. He hummed as he rolled over, nestling his face upon the taller's chest. His mind wondered; How could it be that Ao'nung—out of all Na'vi—was his mate? A water Na'vi. An arrogant boy at first glance. Moreover, Neteyam expected a woman. He wasn't into men. Never in his life had he entertained a thought with a single man.

However, currently cradled in Ao'nung's pleasing warmth—he realized that he had made an exception. One that he'll never regret. He had found genuine feelings, ones that burn the heart with desire. It was surreal to think about.

"I saw you at first glance," Neteyam mumbled, his eyes closed with a tugging warm smile.

Ao'nung's ears shot up. "Love, what are you mumbling about?" He asked.

"You're not very keen," Neteyam said in a jest, shaking his head. "I said that I see you."

"Very direct, much like you," Ao'nung crooned. He pecked each of Neteyam's shut eyes, smiling as the boy beneath him squirmed with chuckles.

"And I'm here to tell you that I see you too, and always will," Ao'nung affirmed. They kissed gently, their lips pouring with every passionate ounce within their bodies. Slow and steady. Warm and pleasing.
