Chapter 4.

Athena's POV

The trip to Volterra was a quiet one for me. As we ran I mostly focused on the ground rather than the vampires around me. But it was hard to when they run so fast. A tall guard was close behind me and the one that was holding my arm, making sure that I wouldn't slip away. But how could I, I'm a human. I let out a small, not hearable sigh. I start to think about what Aro said about Alec being my mate. It's weird knowing that I would only be drawn to him.

Soon enough Volterra came into view. It was a beautifull, old, Italien village ontop of a hill. It was hard to get a good look but I looked around slightly in awe. I had never been to Italy in fear that it would be easier to be caught by the Volturi. Aro got what he wanted, to see me but now I won't be killed. I could feel it. Aro almost seemed to skip from happiness, yet no one but me seemed to find this strange. I would have found it amusing to see a grown vampire skipping if I haven't been the cause of his happiness.

We entered the castle and all made our way towards the throne room waiting for orders. Aro, Marcus and Caius took place in their thrones and their crimson eyes where focused on me. "I could not have been any happier to finally welcome our dear Athena to our little family. I trust everyone will treat her as such. Now, to make you truly part of our family" Aro said.

Aro grabbed my hand, reading my thoughts, he turns to Alec and his sister. "Alec could you please show Athena to her room" Aro said. Alec takes my arm while Aron walks up to his throne. I turn my head to in front of me, I start walking as the same peace Alec was going. I looked at him and quickly looked at the floor. He was already looking at me.

A couple of months pass, me and Alec have been getting closer. There was tension between us but I didn't say anything neither did he. I decided to go to the library. When I got there, I found a desk to sit at and sat down.

I hear "There you are. I have been looking for you." A voice came from behind me, I stood up and turned around to look at Alec. "Hello Alec, what do you need" I asked, almost eager to talk to him. Alec smirked as he walks up to me. "A-Alec" he slowly moved my long, blonde hair away from my neck. He slowly leaned in and started to trace my neck with his mouth, without touching my skin.

Alec slowly moved his lips closely towards mine, feeling his cool breath on them. As he breathed, his mesmerizing smell hit me. Alec slowly leaned closer, lips almost touching. I leaned in so our lips were touching. I felt the same sparks multiplying themselves and shooting all through my body. I wrapped my arms around his neck.

I pulled away for air and Alec smirked, I put my head in his chest not wanting him to see me blushing.

That was three years ago, now me and Alec are married. Being with Alec is the best thing that happened to me besides Kate and her family. I visited her as much as I can, I miss her. I haven't seen her in 4 months but I plan on seeing her soon.

"Alec?" I walk in mine and Alec's shared room, it was dark but then the lights lit up the room. I see rose petals on our bed with a note in the middle. Cheesy I know. I pick up the note and read "The Garden looks beautiful tonight, doesn't it?" I put the note down and walk over to the window. I see fairy lights in the garden below me, I see Alec standing in the middle of the garden. When we were married he made sure that we could see the garden.

I run out of our room, running down the stairs almost tripping. I slow down walking towards the glass doors the lead to the garden. When I walk through the doors I see Alec with a bouquet of sunflowers. I never thought I would see a bouquet of sunflowers, I never have but here I am.

I smile at Alec and he smiles back. I run to him and I hug him. "Happy anniversary amore mio" Alec whispered in my ear. I look up at him and smile. "Happy anniversary, you know you didn't have to do this" I say "but I did" I chuckle taking the flowers from him. I started looking around seeing all the pretty flowers and lights.

Alec walks behind me putting his hands around my waist, ."I love you innamorato" Alec says putting his head on my shoulder. I lean my head on his " I love you too my love" I couldn't ask for a better life then the one I have with Alec. I'm glad I went with Kate and them. I'm glad Aro asked me to go with him. I'm his now, I'll always be His human. For now. I someday need to become a vampire.
