To Arielle,

Happiest birthday! Spend your day well. Blow your candles. Eat a lot. Have a blast. You deserve just as much.

I've collected my thoughts and I realized how it took me to come to this point when I should've done this long ago. It's cowardice that rose within me. I sincerely apologize.

Here's a piece of my heart. I hope this reach you tenderly.

I love everything about you.

The way you smile, the way your eyes glimmer when your favorite Taylor Swift song comes up, the way your laugh is so contagious, the way you get so hyper when the topic falls down to your favorife TV show, the way you treat people with equal kindness, the way you talk and listen soft-heartedly, the way you innocently rant about a bad day, the way you tear up when you're mad, the way you grip the ends of your hair when you're frustrated, the way you live through your principles, and the way you exist through seeing the good in everything.

Everything about you is what I define perfection.

Like me, you're flawed at some aspects. It's those times when you please people too much or lie just to make them feel better or when you bottle your emotions just to not bother anyone. You're not perfect, and I think that's what make you perfect for me.

Having you as a friend felt way too great. In such ways, you have influenced me to love several things. What you love is a part of you. And instinctly, I desire nothing but to be fond of those parts.

I met you during an age where people usually starts to grow. Where we usually get our firsts. Where we meet someone who'll give us butterflies, get our hearts broken, break rules at some point, explore the world we live in, and reflect at our actions as we scoop on a giant tube of ice cream with tears pooling up because we feel so hindered by the elders.

I watched you, myself, and our peers bloom like the flowers in spring. Our petals emitted multiple colors that embodied our beauty. The stem of our figures grew firm with the splashes of experiences and wisdom we accumulated by battling the different challenges of seasons. We were wounded through the circumstances of the actions we didn't think twice to do but despite that, we were carefree. There was nothing to lose.

That's what made our connection special.

It's not an everyday chance that you can meet someone who can understand you as you do yourself. Not everyone can see the art you curated within your walls, or the hidden meaning you put beneath your metaphors.

But you did. You saw through me. Beyond what everybody else saw. Hence. . . that's a reminder that you will always be the woman I'll love. Because of what you are and what you can do.

One day, I may come to the point where I no longer remember the definition of love—but as long as I have my senses to see and touch you, I'll always know what it feels.

I love you. I always will. In every now and then.

Forevermore,
Raxel
